Located in Higuey, SWEET DREAM has self-catering accommodations with a terrace and free WiFi. The property is 29 miles from La Romana, and complimentary private parking is provided. Jenny came and tour the property with us and left the keys. The place is extremely beautifully decorated and quiet. They respond within minutes. The cleanliness of the place is exceptional. The beds were comfortable. No issues. Perfect stay!!!
Located in Higuey, 22 miles from La Romana, Campito Loving has a shared lounge and free WiFi. Some units are air-conditioned and include a patio and/or a seating area with a flat-screen TV. Welcome, authentic, rustic and homely. Homemade delicious dinner and breakfast, friendly dogs, owners willing to tell us the history of the property and the Dominican Republic. Definitely highly recommended.
Located in Higuey, 25 miles from Bávaro, Higuey Center City provides a terrace and free WiFi. This is my home away from home. They are making renovations by adding a hot tub on the roof a lounging area where you can soak up the sun and it will be nice when I return on my next trip
Higuey is inland Dominican Republic, do not expect much English! Take your google translator! Do not rent a car or drive here unless you have your life insurance paid up, some of the worst drivers I’ve ever seen and I have been to a lot of countries. We felt safe the whole time and people are friendly, ate at local spots and cafes, ask your taxi driver for recommendations. Also taxis are cheap, ours became our driver for 3 days and always told us the price in advance and will wait for you for a few dollars more if you need him to. Your hotel can find a good one for you. If you can handle cultural shopping, go for it in town. Don’t forget to get a fresh coconut water, they are huge for about $1.00
Rooms larger than normal, friendly Staff. Rooms are clean but walls could use painting; but good all around. Banks and ATMs plentiful, so are restaurants. People are friendly. Get a car for convience and watch out for the yellow buses and bikes.
This was my second visit to Higuey and I found I was quickly familiar with the city and moving around. Since I was with people who live here my experience was different the tourists who are there on their own. My favorite meal while staying is BBQ chicken, it's amazing!
