The rooms have a great view of the river the problem is that they let there restaurant patrons walk the whole property so that means every few minutes you have people walking through your patio area in front of the room all the people look in your room and have no boundaries it's not a private place as it looks on there advertising.

The distance from the center of town is not a problem because the quiet around the area makes all the difference. It is very close to the spas and hot springs. I personally don't like to be in the thick of things all the time, so being in this home was delightful. The hosts are very warm and caring. The interactions with them were genuinely nice. I plan to return to this place the next time I visit Cuenca. The home is tastefully decorated. There are three bedrooms and two and half bathrooms. There is a warm, pleasant, covered patio at the back with a bar and real grass. The home comes with a garage, but I felt safe to leave the car parked in the driveway. The area feels very safe.

    Hosteria is very conveniently located for access to Llaviucu...

    Hosteria is very conveniently located for access to Llaviucu or Laguna Torreadora. Also a great (albeit steep) hiking trail right up the hill from the lodge. Trail takes you into a back entrance for the National Park, but it's over 800' up the hill so be ready for that. There's a fireplace in the bungalow, but it doesn't help heat the room all that much. Gets pretty chilly at night.
