CanadaWe spent five nights at this place and enjoyed every minute of it. This hotel provides modern, very clean and spacious rooms. Very nice bathroom with plenty of space and nice hot shower. Grounds are meticulously maintained and provide excellent opportunity to relax and enjoy nature. Plenty of birds, butterflies and even agouties. Amazing breakfast is served every morning (good coffee, fresh fruits, freshly squeezed juice, warm croissant with butter and homemade jam and all this on top of the main course). Main course was different every day and consisted of eggs, some Ecuadorian dish (yucca and cheese balls, some rice pancake with shrimps, beef stew and others 😍). So far our best stay in Ecuador.

We had breakfast and lunch out in the garden near the hummingbird and tanager birdfeeders, and the birds were so active that I had to keep on jumping up every 45 seconds to take another photo! But what I most appreciated was the extraordinary kindness, generosity, and attentiveness of the owners Patricio and Camila, as well as the rest of the staff. They catered to our every need. Patricio also went above and beyond by helping us with the logistical arrangements for several day trips and tours we took, and Patricio and Camila even personally drove us to at no charge to one of the best local birdwatching sites. I have never felt so warmly received in any commercial establishment in my life, and I would go back in a heartbeat!

We very much enjoyed our two days in Mindo.
We very much enjoyed our two days in Mindo. Another day, would have been enjoyable, but we were able to hike through the cloud forest to visit six of the seven waterfalls and enjoyed our time at the butterfly refuge and hummingbird garden on our first day. On our second day, we greatly enjoyed our birding tour and on our way back to Quito had time to stop by Al Mitad del Mundo.

Mindo is in a beautiful area with great opportunities for hiking. We enjoyed the Butterfly farm and the Maya Chocolate demonstration, and had a great meal at a tiny family run restaurant called Persian House.

I chose to head to Mindo instead of staying in the city of Quito as I wanted a place to relax and recoup from my long haul flight and get ready for my Galapagos Experience. It was everything I wanted, I felt safe and had options for dining without having to get taxi’s around. The bird life was amazing and I loved the cloud forest environment.

Mindo has a lot of wonderful nature options. Feeding hummingbirds, the BEST butterfly gardens we have ever visited and we have been to many & really good bird watching - we used Sandra & Romelly at Bird Paradaisio (sp) & had alot of fun & Romelly drove us back safely to Quito but took us on an extra bird sighting trip on the way that was super - wonderful too! The trails to the waterfalls was a lot of fun & the falls are worth the trek although these out of shape older folks didn't make it to them all. The chocolate tour at Yumbos led by Amir was wonderful! We enjoyed both the tarabita & telerifico rides although the last was a bit scary, terrific views! Prices for everything was very reasonable, food may be a bit higher than rest of Ecuador but not too bad. Limited options though as most menus looked almost the same. One place we would definitely come back to. Only the food options were a little lacking. Everything else was fun & it was nice to be out of big cities.

We were disheartened when we arrived. They weren’t expecting us and there was a lot of construction work going on but the staff were lovely, the breakfasts were the best we had in Ecuador and sitting on the balcony watching the hummingbirds was very relaxing.

The hotel is very new. Just 2,5 years old and in an excellent condition. A lot of wood.
The lodge is quite outside of Mindo and therefore nice quiet and you can see a lot of birds.
The service is very kind and helping wherever they can.

The hotel is new, modern and well equipped. Delicious breakfast with low cost. The staff provides 24 hours good services and very friendly. It has its own private parking and safe. It's the best hotel in Mindo that we have visited.
