Hotel in Centro Histórico, Quito
Hotel David offers accommodations in Alameda Park in Quito. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant with panoramic views of the city, and karaoke bar. Quito's Historical Center is 10 minutes away. The best hotel in Ecuador! The staff were so kind and considerate, taking our luggage. I was sick while here and the manager Sandy gave me breakfast in bed and gave me tea. The rest of the staff were informed and asked how I was doing often. The beds were comfortable, clean and soft. The room was fantastic. Quiet from street noise. Shower was always hot and had better pressure than we'd had in a while! Breakfast was tasty and light enough to get you going (not good to eat heavy meals with high altitude it gives you heartburn). They cleaned our room everyday practically and it really made it extra cosy.

We did the walking tour offered through Secret Garden, our guide was Fernando. He was excellent, personable, very knowledgeable, his English was very easy to understand. Part of our tour included a trip to Yumbos, a chocolate making company. Our host’s name was Ivan, he was terrific. The city is historic and beautiful. Unfortunately the city is dirty and quite busy in the day, but expected.
Quito is a bustling city It has a great feel to it. We only really did the historic quarter and there was loads more to see. Incredible churches and museums galore Restaurants were very good The height means things need to be taken slowly LOTS OF HILLS !! Airport is at least 1 hour outside city and more at rush hour so be warned for your return to airport!
I was born and grew up in Quito. Now I live in California. I came back for the first time in 35 years since I left. It was a very emotional trip for me and my family. I was very happy to see how Quito has become a cosmopolitan city. It is a beautiful and safe city. I will come back more often.
I live in Cotacachi about 70 miles north of our capital. I always enjoy trips to Quito for entertainment, shopping, sight seeing, etc. These 2 stays were for my eye surgery. This hostel was the perfect location and surroundings in which for me to recover. The staff went the extra mile to accomodate my needs, from escorting me from the taxi to my room right after surgery, to extra pillows to keep my head propped up, to bowls, cups and cutlery for our tea and coffee and salad in our room. The staff is warm, caring and friendly. The rooms are sparkling clean. The location is also ideal for anyone visiting our city.
Quito is too big to judge from one experience. It all depends on what you are looking for, and where you locate yourself. This is our second visit to the Quito area, first to the historic area, and now to the Mitad del Mundo area. We really enjoyed each, vastly different place and stay there.
Quito was a surprising gem. We were there before flying to the Galapagos but wish we'd given ourselves more time to explore the region. We did go out to Otavalo, Papallacta and Mindo but there were more things we wanted to do when we got there. The historic centre is full of charm and the ride up to the volcano on the teleferico is a must do. We didn't feel safe walking around by ourselves at night but that's not unusual in South America.
Very homey & close to downtown Quito. The breakfast was cooked for you each morning where you enjoyed the view from their cute outdoor 3rd level outdoor patio. Johanna also gave a 3 hour city walking tour that was excellent-full of historical information. Johanna also took us on the Cable car ride (Telefirico) & Middle of the World & outdoor museums on the history of Ecuador. All great small group (2) tours. She also set us up on another all day tour outside of Quito to many notable stops which was excellent as well.
Gorgeous individually uniquely decorated rooms with high ceilings feel very spacious. Especially when you consider you’re staying in the colonial old town in a recently renovated building. It contains a brightly lit covered courtyard where you enjoy a fantastic breakfast complete with fresh fruit, fresh juice, excellent Ecuadorian coffee and eggs. Even as impressive as thia boutique hotel is the graciousness of your hosts Miriam,Byron and the rest of the team are so welcoming and helpful in planning our stay in Quito.
Centro Histórico, Quito
The family that runs the place is kind and understanding. I was planning on doing a few different activities in Ecuador so I was in and out a few different times to Quito. There was no issue with storing a bag there or being flexible with dates. The atmosphere is great with great staff as well. The garden area is such a great refuge to return back to after exploring the busy city. I’m grateful for the time I spent there and I will not stay anywhere else next time I am in Quito. Thank you.
We stopped here before an early morning flight, it was perfect for us because we could jump off the bus coming from Otavalo before Quito to miss all the hassle of the bus station. The hotel is great, it felt like it had just been completed, the room and bathroom were very spacious, the fittings were modern (netflix on the tv is always a bonus). We got an Uber to the airport which cost about $16 and took roughly 20 minutes. Would definitely recommend if you need some where close to the airport.
Centro Histórico, Quito
A basic but fantastic hostel. Clean and comfortable. staff great and plan told of activities to entertain in the evenings as area isn’t safe at night. food is superb and cheap. they help organise tours and give great advice on your Ecuador trip. hot shower and fast wifi. and the rooftop terrace has just been refurbished and is an awesome place to chill out with stunning views over Quito.
Centro Histórico, Quito
We stayed two nights longer than planned because we liked the place so much. Marisol was very helpful and friendly, the flat has everything we needed, the kitchen is fully equipped, and there is even a washing machine. The trolleybus stops right in front of the building, the old town is a 5minute walk away. Just perfect to start our travels in Ecuador!
Yvonne and Rodrigo are an absolute gem of a friendly couple. They were eager to tell me about the theme of the hotel, Ecuadorian culture, and answered any question I had! The service was impeccable from them. The breakfast was very good, especially the babaco juice. Would definitely go here again whenever I am in Quito!
Comfortable and quiet hostel with a fully stocked kitchen and good breakfast. Close to the historic city centre. Owner is really nice and gives a personal touch to your stay. He knows everything about Quito, Ecuador and Galapagos so you will have a perfect intinirary after your stay.
This place felt like a hidden gem in a bustling, touristy neighborhood. It was bright, clean and had the decor was beautiful and cultural to Ecuador. The terrace, tiles and open courtyard inside felt like the Mediterranean coast in South America.
The staff is friendly and very helpful. The terrace view is amazing, I spent great time there. Room was little bit cold, breakfast was yummy, and definitely recommend this hotel for your Ecuador trip.
Great atmosphere, lovely rooms, super nice and helpful staff, excellent food, centrally located - I definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly come back when in Quito!
The staff was friendly, and the hot water in the shower was functioning well (which is not always the case in Ecuadorean budget hotels). Good location.
Very close to old town without being a crowded area. The hotel is nice and the staff very friendly, especially Luis who was always ready to help.
Amazing staff and a nice boutique style hotel. A real find just a few minutes walk from the old town. Breakfast was very good as well.
Centro Histórico, Quito
