The venue is designed in a very easily accessible way. The pool, the variety of restaurants and the room service. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Most importantly is the amazing sense of humor and the attitude of the staff. Viola, kirollos, Amr, Mohamad are some of the names I remember who helped make our stay enjoyable and memorable.

I have stayed at other St. Regis hotels and so, I had high expectations. The Cairo hotel is superb. The quality of the bedding, the linens are the finest I have experienced as a seasoned traveller and someone well-versed in the business of linens. This is truly special as Egyptian cotton is the finest in the world, and it is nice the hotel put a focus on it. The breakfast is fantastic in the range and quality of offerings, the impeccable service provided by the staff, and, importantly the early and late hours it is open. I had room service which was top of the line in its selections and service. The facility, and rooms are gorgeous. No detail overlooked. The staff is polished, friendly, knowledgeable and eager to serve. Outstanding hotel in every respect.

My stay at the Steigenberger Hotel in Cairo was an unforgettable experience, which I would rate a solid 9.5/10. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I felt the classic grandeur of this hotel, which with its spotless and well-maintained interior, is reminiscent of a stately cruise ship. It's a ship with stories to tell, which might need some love and attention in the form of a modernization, but is currently cherished with great dedication. And just like with a beloved ship, you can feel the soul and charm in every corner. The absolute trump card of the Steigenberger is undoubtedly its phenomenal location. Right in the heart of Cairo, with the Egyptian Museum literally around the corner, it's the perfect base for exploring the vibrant city. This makes it easy to return to your comfortable safe haven after a day full of overwhelming and adventurous discoveries. But let's also talk about the culinary journey that the Steigenberger offers, especially the legendary breakfast buffet. With a staggering selection of at least 200 products, where new tasty surprises await discovery every day, this breakfast is a true feast for the senses. From fresh local delicacies to international classics, you'll find everything here to start your day energetically. And then there's the room service! It's as if a genie lives in a lamp, that's how quick and efficient the service is. The friendly staff are always ready with a smile, and the dishes they serve are not only delicious and generous in portion size, but also surprisingly affordable by Western standards. After a long day of sightseeing, there's nothing better than enjoying a tasty meal in the privacy of your own room. Our room was spotlessly clean and well-maintained, a nice place to relax. Admittedly, like the rest of the hotel, a refresh would undoubtedly make the room even better.

We had a fantastic stay at the hotel and the staff went out of their way to ensure that are comfortable. My husband celebrated his birthday during our stay and the Restaurant staff baked him a cake. That was very special. The food is varied and of excellent quality. The resort is simply beautiful! The rooms are comfortable and everything that you need is there. Good water pressure and the aircon works perfect. The swimming pool is clean every day. There is a bar available and evening entertainment. We loved this hotel and would return when given the opportunity.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was genuinely impressed from start to finish. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout my visit. The room was spotlessly clean, well-furnished, and surprisingly spacious, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect - close to key attractions but still quiet enough for a good night's sleep. I particularly appreciated the high standard of cleanliness across the entire hotel, and the breakfast each morning was fresh, varied, and delicious. They arranged our tours in Giza, Cairo and Luxor & Aswan, all of them were perfect and unforgettable experiences Asma was very nice and helped with any questions we had, she contacted us on WhatsApp and given us all information that we wanted and it’s super helpful

FAQs about hotels in Cairo

Resting Place of Pharaohs

Born of an ancient civilization, Cairo is a vast metropolis centered around the Nile. Its sheer scale can feel overwhelming (especially when flying over Cairo Airport), so plan ahead. An obvious starting point are the Giza Pyramids. Although the pharaohs are long gone, the grandeur of their burial pyramids, the Sphinx and Solar Boat are testament to their ambition.

The city’s Egyptian Museum houses a dazzling display of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including finds from Tutankhamen's tomb in Luxor. Around the corner is Tahrir, a huge square and focal point of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution.

East is Islamic Cairo, home to the 9th-century Ibn Tulun Mosque, Al-Azhar Mosque (site of the world’s oldest university), and the Khan el-Khalili souk (remember to haggle). The Citadel, with its elegant Mohammed Ali Pasha Mosque, sits on a hill offering far-reaching city views.

If you need a break from cultural tours, take a Nile cruise by felucca, spot wildlife in Wadi Digla desert park or visit Egypt’s top theme parks: Dream Park and Magic Land, where you can tour Egyptian TV studios.

Before heading to your Cairo accommodations, sample the local cuisine – the falafel and fuul (bean paste) are delicious. Coffee is a staple and there are hundreds of shisha bars, while major Cairo hotels have bars serving alcohol.

My recent trip to Cairo was nothing short of unforgettable.

My recent trip to Cairo was nothing short of unforgettable. The city is a fascinating mix of ancient history and modern chaos, where every street feels alive with energy. Cairo has a unique rhythm—bustling traffic, the constant call to prayer, and the warmth of its people all blend into an atmosphere that feels both overwhelming and enchanting at the same time. Of course, no trip to Cairo would be complete without seeing the Pyramids of Giza. Standing before these colossal structures was surreal—no photograph can truly capture their scale or the sense of wonder they inspire. A highlight of my visit was also taking a Nile cruise at sunset. Drifting along the river with the city lights glowing on the banks offered a calmer, more romantic side of Cairo that beautifully contrasted with the daytime buzz. The markets, particularly Khan el-Khalili, were an adventure on their own. The maze of stalls, filled with spices, jewelry, and traditional crafts, gave me a real taste of Cairo’s cultural heartbeat. Bargaining with shopkeepers was part of the fun, and I left with not just souvenirs, but memories of conversations and laughter. Cairo is not a quiet city, but that’s exactly its charm—it’s raw, vibrant, and unapologetically alive. Between the ancient wonders, the Nile’s serenity, and the sensory overload of the markets, my time there was an experience I’ll always treasure.

Despite the majority of 'tourist areas' often being heavily congested - Cairo has ample space and things for people of all ages to see and enjoy. From the pyramids, to Sphinx, Museums, parks and Cairo tower - to sampling pigeon, Cairo has it all, and more!! Highly recommend Cairo for a weekend / long weekend / week getaway where you can indulge in anything and everything from luxury boutique hotels, day trips, dessert safari, Nile cruises, or relax and unwind whilst enjoying some fine dining, local cuisine and soaking up the sunshine. Local hospitality is amongst some of the best I've experienced around the world and one of the many reasons I will continue returning to Egypt!

Pyramids were great, and GEM. citadel too.

Pyramids were great, and GEM. citadel too. Cairo as such only so-so but worth a visit. People are friendly but always trying to get money from you, turist prices. Perhaps fair enough, considering gap in wealth. Be prepared for stomac flue, almost impossible to avoid if you normally live in Europe/US. Felt safe all the time.

Overall, it was a great experience. I would advise people not to hire a guide—do your own research and explore on your own. Avoid rushing into shopping with guides, as you may end up losing money to scams. Overall, Egyptian people are wonderful, but the tourism side could be better.

I chose Radisson because it's so close to the airport (I arrived late and didn't want to drive on at night). The interior design (lobby with "open" patio, rooms etc.) was very attractive and fully correspond with the 4-5 star rating of the hotel. The selection of dishes for breakfast was also very good (except for the missing orange juice). Upon check out with the quality manager (by chance), she was really interested in learning what they could do to improve in my rating (I said I would give an 8 of 10).

He is a real gem and made us feel at home with his kindness and care - definitely 5 star treatment! We wish you all the best and to the Marwa Palace hotel which was a nice oasis of peace after spending a few evenings closer to the pyramids! Great location, pleasant staff and a good base. Thanks 🙏🏻
