I had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The staff were very attentive and friendly, making me feel welcome right away. As soon as I made the reservation, everything was handled super quickly and efficiently. They also offer multiple tours around Egypt, which made planning my trip so much easier. The food was absolutely delicious, and I really enjoyed every meal. The hotel has an excellent view, and the best part is that you can actually walk to the Pyramids of Giza from there. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Egypt!

FAQs about hotels in Cairo

Resting Place of Pharaohs

Born of an ancient civilization, Cairo is a vast metropolis centered around the Nile. Its sheer scale can feel overwhelming (especially when flying over Cairo Airport), so plan ahead. An obvious starting point are the Giza Pyramids. Although the pharaohs are long gone, the grandeur of their burial pyramids, the Sphinx and Solar Boat are testament to their ambition.

The city’s Egyptian Museum houses a dazzling display of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including finds from Tutankhamen's tomb in Luxor. Around the corner is Tahrir, a huge square and focal point of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution.

East is Islamic Cairo, home to the 9th-century Ibn Tulun Mosque, Al-Azhar Mosque (site of the world’s oldest university), and the Khan el-Khalili souk (remember to haggle). The Citadel, with its elegant Mohammed Ali Pasha Mosque, sits on a hill offering far-reaching city views.

If you need a break from cultural tours, take a Nile cruise by felucca, spot wildlife in Wadi Digla desert park or visit Egypt’s top theme parks: Dream Park and Magic Land, where you can tour Egyptian TV studios.

Before heading to your Cairo accommodations, sample the local cuisine – the falafel and fuul (bean paste) are delicious. Coffee is a staple and there are hundreds of shisha bars, while major Cairo hotels have bars serving alcohol.

Putting aside the heavy traffic, Cairo as well as Egypt offer tremendous culture and history. The new Cairo museum was huge, displaying all king Tut treasures. We ate at "kababgy" in sofitel. Don't think or attempt to rent a car; uber is readily available and very inexpensive

Cairo itself was chaotic , dusty , hot and just crossing the road is a thrilling experience . I'd say if you are adventure driven maybe a day is enough . Giza is just an extension but you need to see the pyramids . Luxor was nicer and the hotels along the Nile are great - We stayed at the Steinenberger which was fabulous and some to many poms who had gone there 10 years in a row ( such amazing value for money to laze at a pool overlooking the Nile with all the feluccas sailing by ) We loved the Nile cruise just to relax as didn't do the daily tours to various ruins , temples and tombs . Some you can walk past yourself ( EG Luxor ) and did Valley of the kings and Hatshepsut before getting on the boat ( both worth seeing )

I particularly had a great time in Cairo. Of course I didn’t appreciate much everyone trying to sale you something and being pushy about it. But the rest was awesome. I loved the food, how friendly people were with me. I would go back for sure

Pyramids, Sphinx and Great Egyptian museum were outstanding.

Pyramids, Sphinx and Great Egyptian museum were outstanding. Also visit the Cave Church, which is in area called Garbage city. Avoid camel and horse rides at Pyramids as not worth it. Tips are asked as a right than reflection of quality of services given in Egypt. Be prepared to bargain hard wherever you go for shopping or you may end up paying a lot. I found Cairo, and overall Egypt, very safe for tourists. Unlike Italy and certain other EU nations, there were no pickpockets.

Egypt is a truly amazing country, especially Cairo, which is beautiful because of its kind and friendly people. The city is lively and vibrant, with incredible cultural and historical sites such as the Grand Egyptian Museum, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, and the famous Giza Pyramids. Visitors can enjoy walking along the Corniche, dining at Nile-view restaurants, and exploring traditional markets like Khan El Khalili and Al-Hussein, along with the many cafes around. For those seeking relaxation and marine activities, Sharm El Sheikh offers wonderful boat trips and diving opportunities to explore the beauty of the Red Sea. Overall, Egypt combines rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning natural landscapes, making it an unforgettable travel experience.

Our last night in Egypt was spent in this hotel after a full bore "trains, boats and automobiles" tour of Egypt. After a hectic 6 days, it was the ultimate pleasure to stretch out on a sunbed and relax. The Buffet breakfast was an international feast, the best meal for a week. Staff throughout were courteous, attentive and efficient. bizarrely drinks whilst expensive were cheaper than the Novotel next door (an old haunt). The airport shuttle out was timely on departure and quick to get to our terminal.

Breakfast was fantastic- one of the best, varied and tasty. And we did experience many hotels i dare say. Receptionist (Abdul) was extremely customer focused, he went above and beyond for each of our questions. Water pressure is very ok, water quality is fine to brush teeth (not everywhere you get that) Pillow and mattress were fine. Location is excellent- 2 minutes walk to Egypt National Museum, many restaurants with good food, sweets and drinks. Recommending Bab El Sharq and Le Poire

We really enjoyed this small Airbnb close to the Pyramids (Walking distance) Youssef and his staff took care of us with great hospitality and the airport transfer went very well. We stayed on 3 hotels during our stay in egypt and this is the only one that we had a positive experience. The other 2 are both 5 star hotels so Sequoia even with no stars is 1000 times better than some of the big ones.

It is close to the airport and I took it as I only went to the hotel to just sleep some hours. The receptionist were the best ones I met in Egypt. I asked to get a taxi early in the morning and this was the only hotel from all I visited in Egypt that told me the real price I had to pay (maximum 80 egyptian pounds), and only for it they deserve the best comment from my part. Thanks a lot.
