Casa Bascara is a wonderful place to stay and Luc was such a kind and welcoming host! We particularly loved the comfortable and beautifully designed bedrooms, relaxed breakfasts and historic surroundings - not to mention the pool table!

The town of Bascara is incredibly charming! It's not touristy and has delightful restaurants, a wonderful grocery store situation just around the corner (2 of them) and a butcher, and a super lovely Sunday farmer's market right in the square with fruit, bread, cheese and rotisserie chickens. It felt like we had everything we needed food wise right there. The house is huge, it was perfect how everyone had their own room and bathroom. Everything feels newly renovated, all of the appliances are first-rate and made us feel special. The hosts are communicative and gave us plenty of recommendations for day trips to do. We particularly loved going to the beach nearby -- it was great that we had cars, finding parking in Bascara was super simple too -- and to Palafrugell for an afternoon for an incredible seafood meal that we won't quickly forget. Highly recommend -- it's a fantastic house!

    This is an architectural surprise in a town I had never heard of. The experience is worth having, seeing the owner dream so beautifully executed and his attentiveness to detail was incredible. He was a charming host. If I were a writer, I would check in for a few months and write the next great novel!

    Everything was fantastic. The hotel itself is so beautiful and you really feel like you are in a historic location (because you are!). At the same time, it felt like home. Each room is unique and gorgeous. Very comfortable beds. Great kitchen that is open for your use throughout your stay. Luke, is an absolute gem who goes above and beyond for his guests. Do not hesitate to book this stunning hotel!!! There's also a peaceful walking path along the river that is close by.

    I usually don't comment about stays. However; my wife and I spent 4 wonderful nights at Casa Bascara, a gem in Costa Brava. Our host Luc could not have been more wonderful. He takes such care and pride to makesure your stay is pleasant and comfort. We happened to be there when his parents were visiting from Belguim and his father is a fantastic tour guide full of information on where to visit and what to see in the area. A truely wonderful spot.

    It is a lovely traditional stone house, restored into a beautiful hotel in a quiet small town. The decor is impressive, with many antique pieces hand-selected by the amazing host, Luc. The location is perfect, as it is very close to both Figueres and Girona.

    Great house refitted as small hotel with great attention to detail. Very nice owner and always willing to help. Had a great meal in town at El Portal de Bàscara just a very short 3-minute stroll away. Beautiful wine cellar!
