Arriving at El Caleyon on a sunny evening was very special. It was early in the season and after 6pm so Bulnes was super quiet and peaceful. Alberto greeted us for dinner - a very friendly host who gave us a really warm welcome. His wife, Elena is an amazing chef and prepares everything to order so it is home cooking in the very true sense. We had dinner, breakfast and late lunch the next day after we returned from a hike. Alberto and Elena made us feel very welcome. I really hope to return some day. This was truly memorable. The location is superb, very peaceful and very comfortable.

Everyone we met, from the woman who checked us in to the man who so nicely carried coffee up to our room from the restaurant, was so friendly and seemed genuinely happy we were there. The people at the restaurant next door were equally as friendly and very helpful with the menu. We had a beautiful view of the mountains from our room and there was a lovely terrace overlooking a stream. Everything seemed like it had been recently updated and the shower was awesome (a marker of a decent place to stay in my opinion!). We would recommend staying here and would return!

This was an amazing find. Exceptional value for money. We had a beautiful room with a comfortable bed, amazing views and a great bathroom. The owners were very helpful and the staff were very kind. All in all one of our best stays on a 7 week travel around Spain only downside was we didn’t stay longer

    Bulnes is incredible. You step back in time. Such a great place to start so many hikes and adventures in the Picos de Europa. Beautiful. We hiked in from Poncebos and we stayed at the top of the village at El Caleyon. Alberto and his staff were wonderful. The Fabada I had for dinner at the restaurant associated with El Caleyon was my favorite meal of our trip. Cannot say enough about being able to experience this town. The next morning we hiked up to the closest refuge, the views were incredible!
