Set in a XVIII century building, Hotel Alquimia Cadiz is located in Cádiz Historic City Center. This property offers an Andalusian patio and a rooftop terrace with views of the bay. The hotel was really nice and we had a very friendly and warm welcome. We stayed at the room that was a small inhouse chapel back in the past, when this palace building still belonged to a merchant. The beds are in front of a huge painting that reaches to the ceiling of the room, which gives the room a unique atmosphere. The room has a small and beautiful balcony which is completely covered in glas (like a winter-garden) and two huge wooden doors to access the balcony, which reminded me of the style of doors in apartments in paris. The hotel also has a really cool roof top terrace bar with a chill out atmosphere, where you can grab a beer or a drink. Due to Covid-19 the hotel has implemented all necessary means to offer their clients the utmost safety and we felt safe in any respect. We had a really pleasent stay and we will definitely come back to stay here again by the next time we will be in Cadíz.

Great sized city, it has a very hard to achieve mix of being close to a nice beach, very good bars and restaurants and at the same time have enough options to get a very quiet sleep. The people there are amazing, for both long and short stays.
Cadiz is a very pleasant town to visit if you are interested in the history and events of the past. Many areas have been and are being improved to the benefit of tourists. Make sure you have a street map with you and know where you are!. As it is very easy take a wrong turn in the many interconnecting narrow streets (as happened to us).
Cadiz has a lovely old town with lots of shops and good restaurants .Parking inside the old town is difficult and also some roads are very narrow so be careful not to scratch your car . You can find free parking in the ring outside the old town or use one of the covered parks usually charge 10 euro for the day. There are beaches in Cadiz bu the best beaches and hotels are around Novo Sancti Petri area . ( appx 30km from Cadiz centre)Next time I will stay there and enjoy the great beaches kite surfing ( tarifa) golf and go to old town in the evenings for shopping and to eat. There is also a good El corte Inglese( dept store in Cadiz)
Quite interesting old city. Beaches close to the center. Need to have à car if you want to visit the country around (few public transportation system exept between Cadiz & Jerez). Difficult to drive and park in the old city of Cadiz, better to leave the car outside. Many restaurant along the beaches and in the old city.
I loved the ambiance , the weather was perfect, sunny, warm but not excessively hot. Food and drink are incredibly reasonable and a great variety. The market was perfect. The old town is compact and charming. I ate in Contrasena on Plaza Candelaria excellent.
I stayed in Cadiz for 6 days and I found it very interesting. There is alot of cultural heritage as well as natural beauty to see. Fortresses, beaches and especially beautiful parks were the best part of my experience. Food was good as well and people were very friendly, but almost nobody speaks any other language than Spanish.
Small boutique hotel in the heart of the Old Town. On arrival we were welcomed by Carmen who completed the registration process with the minimum of delay and showed us to our room which included a separate shower and toilet. The room was clean and well fitted. we were given a map (essential) to find our way around the Old Town and Carmen highlighted places to see and to eat. The hotel has a lovely roof terrace with sun beds and a shaded area. Staff very helpful. yellow painted the inside of the green
Cádiz
The location of the apartment is great, right in the heart of the city, walking distance to all the interesting spots of Cádiz. There is a public parking about 5min walk and plenty of bars and restaurants around. The apartment itself is very modern, super clean and comfortable. The hosts, Gareth and Paul are very nice people, friendly and helpful. They take care of every little detail in the apartment and offer a fantastic service and experience for their guests. Highly recommended.
This was probably the best prepared apartment I have been to whilst on holiday, in the sense that they had everything/ had thought of everything that would be needed. The location is fantastic if you want to visit the Cadiz old town. It is near everything, eg. a kiosk is next door, a supermarket 30 seconds away, bakeries , off licences , pharmacies etc are all very close. Not to mention bars and restaurants of course.
After traveling for 3 weeks in Spain, hopping from city to city and hotel to hotel, it was WONderful to have an apartment - SPACE! A sitting room! Washing machine where I could get my clothes clean without spending a fortune. The apartment is well appointed, modern, very clean, centrally located in old town. I loved it. And Juan - the owner or contact person - was very nice.
Cádiz
This was a 5 star service. Paco, the host, was one of the most polite and hospitable person I have ever met. Thank you for the lovely stay! We wish we could have stayed longer. We were welcomed with the fruit basket like we had booked a 5 star hotel. Cleanliness and comfort this apartment offers are one of the best we have experienced.
Beautiful hotel in wonderful location within walking distance to all you would want to see in Cadiz. Helpful staff with map. Quiet building and historic with towers and view from rooftop. Absolutely wonderful breakfast buffet!! Lift is nice with bags. No complaints for large family staying here...wish we would have stayed longer!
The staff were all willing to help and recommend activities in Cadiz. They booked a brilliant flamenco show for us. The interior of the hotel was in keeping with the area of the Old Town in Cadiz and the ambience of the rooftop bar made for a pleasant start or end to an evening out.

Perfect location in the very center of the old town, yet not too far away from the intercity bus and train stations (if travelling light you can reach both of them of foot, otherwise take a taxi). Big, clean room. Fast, hassle-free check in. No English spoken at the reception desk.

Very impressed with the cleanliness of the bedroom. Very good bathroom for a city hostel, comparable to city hotels. Great shower facilities. Very helpful and sociable reception staff. All in all, a great weekend hostel with which to enjoy the delights, Cadiz has to offer.

The building was renewed very recently and everything looks and feels great. The roof is spectacular. Great place to spend some quiet nights in the centre of Cadiz.
It is right in the middle of Cadiz. Wonderful location and friendly staff. The receptionist is not there all day, so be sure to ask all your questions in advance.
