FAQs about hotels in Cádiz

Spain’s Oldest Jewel

Cádiz might be a small strip of land, but being the oldest inhabited city in Spain, it means that it’s covered with monuments from different ages and cultures. Beautiful sandy beaches kissed by crystalline waters are also part of its magic, while you won’t be able to forget that you’re in Andalusia, land of music and passion.

Founded by Phoenicians, it had Greek, Roman, Arab and Visigoth influence, and the Age of Discoveries reclaimed its fame as port city. It became a cosmopolitan centre of commerce, enriching a heritage still visible in its historic centre. Don’t miss its narrow streets, colourful squares, the Roman theatre, and the imposing and eclectic Cathedral. Some of the most unique hotels in Cádiz are located in the Old Town.

The newer districts include wide avenues and contemporary buildings. These are the areas of Cádiz with a larger offering of modern hotels on the beach and apartments for rent. Restaurants and cafés serving great local, Andalusian and Spanish specialities are also easy to find.

The railway stations of Estadio, Segunda Aguada, and Central link the city with the rest of the country, while the nearby Jerez Airport is 47 km away. If thinking of visiting southern Spain, check out the Cádiz accommodation deals on Booking.com!

It's hard to explain why we liked Cadiz so much.

It's hard to explain why we liked Cadiz so much. The vibe of old town is great. Laid back, easy going, good food and coffee - what's not to like. Beaches are close by. Lots of character. Go to Cadiz!

Loved walking in the old town and visiting the central market in the day and for food at night. It felt safe at night. Cathedral was interesting. The small sqaures around the old town were excellent for sitting in and people watching. Nice beaches fairly close to the town and if you fancy a flat walk along the beach hou can go for hours. Ate at small tapas places.

Cádiz is a great city with a bit of everything: medieval city, lots of history, beaches, fantastic food and drink. There are lots of free things to visit (museums etc) and the city has a lovely laid-back vibe. I would very much like to come back

Cádiz is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe, located in southwestern Spain, on a narrow slice of land surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. It has a unique charm, blending history, culture, and stunning coastal scenery. It’s less touristy than Seville or Málaga, giving it a more authentic Spanish vibe.

We always love Cadiz as my husband was born there so we try and travel to Cadiz every summer from Australia. We love the beach, fish market is amazing and all the bars & restaurants and the churros & chocolate for breakfast we have tried many places and I think Cadiz has the best churros. Even better than in Madrid.

Cádiz is an incredible city to visit.

Cádiz is an incredible city to visit. Great beaches, 4 to be precise. Caleta, in the old town, it is ok but small and water is not as clean. Santa Maria del Mar, is good but not great. La Victoria is great but at times very busy. Cortadura is great and a little more "wild".

The overall stay at the Cádiz Bahia was exceptional, the room was spacious , comfortable, modern and very clean. All the of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We will certainly return now a new route to Jerez airport by a popular carrier from Leeds UK. Transport links are excellent, with local regular buses to take you into the heart of Cádiz old town or enjoy a stroll along the beach promenade.

Great location on a popular square. Hotel has so much history so very interesting to see the history preserved in the main sitting room area. Very clean, just a very nice feel about this hotel. Only a 10 minute stroll to the centre of the old town of Cadiz and a 5 minute walk behind the hotel to the coast. Lots of cafes and restaurants around the hotel square. Will definitely stay here again.

Exceptional place to stay in Cádiz. Located at the quieter end of the old town, it's an easy walk to the sea front or the myriad squares. Rooms are stylish and comfortable, there are many seating areas in the hotel. There is a great roof terrace with sea views and a lovingly refurbished tower. Breakfast is excellent and wifi is strong.

Conveniently situated in the Old Town of Cadiz, this lovely elegant hotel has an interesting history. Breakfasts were excellent and the staff were very helpful. We didn’t use the spa and there is no restaurant. Our bedroom was lovely although noisy during thr first night which was a Friday and people were all going out.
