Hotel Rural la Plaza is located opposite the Town Hall in the mountain town of Campo de Caso, in the Redes Nature Reserve. It offers free Wi-Fi and free parking nearby. I was very surprised to see a listing on the internet which said this hotel is one star. i thought everything was very good. The room was very reasonably priced, clean and Campu is a great place to base oneself for local outdoors, eg Caleao or Bezanes. Given the stars, it’s not going to have a spa, but I presume that’s not why most people go there. I would definitely stay again.

Fantastic breakfast with a wide choice of yoghurt, fruit, cold meats and cheese, as well as eggs, tea, coffee etc. A perfect start for a day´s hiking. The rooms were beautifully furnished, and the beds were very comfortable. The owners were very helpful with recommendations of restaurants in the village and other local knowledge. We even sampled some of the home made cheese on arrival.
