Set in El Chorro in the Andalucía Region, 36 km from Málaga, Olive Branch boasts a shared outdoor pool and barbecue. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They helped with getting to our hikes, recommending places to eat and whatever we needed. Lovely place. Highly recommended
Alojamiento Rural El Chaparro is set in El Chorro and offers an outdoor swimming pool and a garden. The air-conditioned accommodation is 27 km from Antequera. The property was amazing. It will require a car to get to but this wasn’t a negative for us as this is exactly what we were looking for. Out of the way, no neighbours, great views and in the middle of what you would class as the real Spain. Shops where a 10 minute drive away, a supermarket, patisserie and butchers with a town market on Thursdays. The property had a salt water pool which was a decent size, an outdoor bathroom/shower as well as an outside shower next to the pool. The BBQ was brilliant with electrical sockets and a sink. Would highly recommend and would visit again.
Set overlooking Guadalhorce Lake, El Arpa offers a peaceful country location, 45 minutes’ drive from Málaga. Bright, modern apartments come with free Wi-Fi and private, furnished terraces. - private beach - free bikes and board games - wonderful landscape - beautiful garden and animals - friendly atmosphere
Offering an outdoor pool, B&B cortijo Don Camilo de La HUMA is located in El Chorro. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here will provide you with a patio and a terrace. Great hosts! So welcoming and made us feel right at home. Amazing location, great pool and with lots of hiking opportunities right outside. The food was great and the atmosphere was amazing! Would recommend to anyone!
Just 3 km from El Caminito del Rey, these family-run rural apartments and villas feature air conditioning, flat-screen TVs and well-equipped kitchenettes. we are a party of climbers who visited this property already few times before and will come again. Perfect location, reasonable price, perfect view, peace, restaurant in the vicinity with perfect cuisine.
Set in extensive grounds, these villas are located within Desfiladero de los Gaitanes Nature Reserve, in El Chorro. The villa was beautiful, clean and spacious and we enjoyed our time very much. A box with fresh oranges were given to us which was very kind. Due to the weather we could not use the pool which was a shame. It looks perfect and in the summertime it must be wonderful to be able to use it.
We only did the gorge walk in this area and it was spectacular. The logistics of the trip are well organised - book your slot in advance on line - and it all went very smoothly. Bus drops you at a restaurant where there is a sign to the gorge walk start point 2.7 km. If you walk back up the road about 10 mins there is a small tunnel, again signed to the start point, and this cuts down the walk to 1.5 km. We were grateful for this tip from a fellow traveller. You need a torch or the app on your phone but it is a straight tunnel and easy. The walk itself is awesome and not too scary. Even the bridge at the end is OK. It's short and not too bouncy!
Always a good place to visit, the views are exceptional...the restaurants are great ..all of them..it's a place for all ages, you can do all or nothing..it's up to you... swimming, walking, climbing, horse riding, sun bathing or just a nice cool drink and lazing around....just go for it..it's a place too good to miss...
Life made simple but cheap and providing excellent value for money, if you want five star service and a butler at your beck and call then this is not for you, however if you want to mingle with honest down to earth people and learn how life should be then this is for you. Overall a great experience in a fantastic location with wonderful open minded people.
The Caminito is in a pretty secluded area so our meals were all at La Garganta. We also did horseback riding up into the mountains which was amazing!! Don’t come expecting anything commercial (yet) as it is clearly for nature lovers, hikers, and cyclists. We did our best to try these things that were fairly new to us and enjoyed every minute!
Fabulous scenery very dramatic, but for one who is terrified of heights it's a no no Would recommend the leg of lamb at el kiosko, succulent and plentiful. And you can get down to the lake to swim if you've a mind
Nice very small village close to the amazing rock climbing opportunities! Limited choices of restaurants in the village itself but with a car easy to go elsewhere too. If wanting to visit Caminito Del Rey, please remember to book it in advance. We didn't know this should be done so couldn't go there. Climbers planning to climb there can go for free with a special insurance card.
