This is such a magical part of the world. Bar Gran Sol for pinxtos is a must do experience, the other pinxtos restaurants are equally fab. For an outstanding gastronomic experience head for Gastroteka Danontzat in the medieval part of town, outstanding food, wine & the vibes are real. Hondarribia is more intimate than its larger cousin - San Sebastian - just a short drive away. The old town as one can imagine is full of history and interesting buildings. The newer part of the town has the beach and plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes. There is enough to keep a couple entertained for several days. If you want a drive over the mountains there is a twisty road to San Sebastian well worth a try. Parking needs to be prebooked which we did fortunately because there are few spaces at the hotel or in the vicinity. A pleasant and comfortable room with a view. The receptionists were polite and had a sense of humour. In addition to the usual continental style breakfast a cooked breakfast was prepared on order not in bain maries to go cold or rubbery. Hondarribia is hard to beat, and the appartment is right by the gates to the old town. The view from the balcony is magnificent. The appartment is very comfortable and features modern equipment.
