Not much on the island. It's very small. Only reason to go is to chill out at the hotel or in a villa. It's very upmarket. O grove is the main resort across the bridge with a variety of restaurants/activities. Very good road to A Toxa so quite easy to visit Santiago de Compostela and the Rias Baixas or south to Oporto/Douro valley. There areboat trips up the ria.

In the region don't exist any Restaurant , we can lunch only in Hotel... and the food is only buffet. Another important situation... this days Carnaval season the outside / village must be open... and the restaurant close... less options. This days in Hotel at least 50% are Portuguese, and the hotel don't have ANY TV Channel from Portugal ... is normal ?? The hotel People wants to have Portuguese Tourist that ?? I don't believe.

The hotel is very grand in that "yester-year" sort of way - big salons and dining rooms, lush grounds. We loved our stay on the island. It's very relaxing and just a quick ride into O Grove for more restaurant options. The place was empty in early July, but we found out that things really pick up starting mid-July. We were glad to have the place to ourselves.

The hotel is nice, enjoying the sea view, with good breakfast and access to the own spa with seawater and some treatments available. Room size on the above average range. Restaurant meals are rather expensive, but with excellent quality.
