Jerez de la Frontera is a "must have seen" for all fans of Sherry and Vermouth. Sandeman, Tio Pepe and Osborne are located here. The city itself by far not able to compete with Cadiz or Sevilla. But all Sherry lovers need to get a factory tour at all 3 big Companies. By the way, the bull 🐂on all Spanish highways indicate a wineyard from Osborne
Beautiful clean city with squares to sit and relax in. Plenty of places to eat. Wonderful architecture. Fantastic Arab fortress to explore. We had a wonderful horse and carriage ride around the city. The guide Juan, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The horse was superb too. At forty euros for two it was well worth the money. The horse show was wonderful, words can't describe how beautiful these animals and riders in a display of flamenco and ballet steps. It was one of the most emotional and glorious things I've ever seen. Everything is well looked after and people are efficient and helpful. The covid prevention was top rate and far superior to the way Britain is handling the crisis.
The location of this hotel was right in the centre and an easy walk to the main attractions of Jerez. Some of the attractions in Jerez were not charging entrance fees. Jerez is an old city but is kept very clean and everyone was wearing masks. As a lot of the street are old cobbles, it is advisable to wear comfortable footwear.
Is is a very beautiful city. We had very nice meals for a very reasonable price. We liked the food. What we didn't like was the amount of beggars asking for money on the streets and the fact that things were stolen from my car that was parked in front of the hotel. In reality that experience ruined all the pleasure that we have and I am not sure that I will go back. Advice. Don't park your car on the street
It has a very friendly and welcoming feel and the buildings and history are certainly worth the visit. restaurants are amazing and varied and the opportunity to witness the flamenco dancing and guitar playing was superb
Jerez de la Frontera is a jewel of a city. The streets are lined with orange trees, which were in blossom in early March, filling the air with perfume. The city is full of exquisite old buildings, particularly the Alcazar. It is fun just to sit and watch the locals go about their business. We saw a Flamenco exhibition which was extraordinary. The audience really enjoyed themselves. Food is superb and very cheap. Visiting a Bodega is essential, as Jerez is the only place in the world which produces sherry. I recommend Emilio Lustau. My hotel had a garage - essential as parking is so difficult.
