Haven't been there for some time and it seems to have got a bit tatty although seemed safe with few beggars. Restaurants we visited were very good and significantly cheaper that Costa del Sol where we live. Having visited bodegas on previous visits, didn't feel the need to visit again.
Nice, small city, good food and friendly people. A lot of aggressive begging in a small area close to the centre, but that is a feature of many cities. Nice old town, well worth spending a bit of time there. The children's parade in early January is always worth a visit if travelling to Jerez in wintertime. Unique, great atmosphere and not like anywhere else. Just beware that parking is difficult at this time.
Walking around the old town and getting lost in the streets stopping at one of the hundreds of tapas bars is the best way to visit the centre of Jerez. You have to visit one of the dozens of Bodegas in Jerez. We went to Gonzales Byass and, although it is a little expensive, it was definitely worth the money. Having a sherry at El Pasaje is a must with a fantastic flamenco show. Jerez is most lively during the day and in the night is best at the weekends. This time we did not see the dancing horses show but it is something which needs to be seen at least once in your life if you visit the city. Go for an ice cream to Heladeria Margarita La Fresca. Have a few tapas in Albores and also pop to Malvón for a quick bite of the most amazing pasties.
Excellent historic sites (Cathedral, Alcazar, and many other churches that show the Catholic past), but also interesting Arab baths, and many houses with Arab mosaics and inner patios with interesting architecture. There are many remnants of muslim culture in Jerez, food is great, prices are lower than expected. The yellow colour is very characteristic in the outside decor of buildings. Clima/temperature is fantastic in February when I was there. And there are orange trees all throughout the city - with oranges :)
Nice with a car. Easy too park in a parking place above the road. We was going too Jerez racing track, and stayed there for this purpose. Close too restaurants and bars. Can easily recommend this place!
Fine for no more than a couple of days especially if you are interested in visiting the Jerez bodegas. We found Cadiz much livelier and more picturesque. If your time is short and are torn between visiting one or the other, choose the latter and do a day trip to Jerez.
Jerez de la Frontera
It is a modern apartment. All the materials are of high quality and everything is in good order. The lighting in many Spanish hotel rooms and in the bathrooms, is usually terrible. That is not the case here. It is excellent. The apartment is located on a quiet side street but only one block away from the heart of the beautiful center of historic Jerez. Any minor problems or any questions you might have are dealt with immediately by Marcos. I loved staying here. Thanks Marcos!
thanks Again to the whole Villa Jerez Team for the nice hospitility during our 10days stay in Jerez. Esspecially to Suanna and Pako giving us Daily Support about nice Places to go. Last Not legst to Chief „breakfast“ serving us with Every Special with. Not to forget our room has been Cleared up Daily with no excuse by the top housekeeping team. So Next stay during upcoming holidays in Jerez for Süd in the real 5 Star Hotel Villa Jerez . greetings from Hans
From the moment we arrived we were impressed with this hotel. We were upgraded at no extra charge to a mini suite which was right up there with the finest places we've ever stayed. The lovely ladies at reception did everything possible to ensure we had the best possible experience in Jerez, and I must point out Raquel and Esperanza went the extra mile for us. Should we ever return to Jerez, I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. Highly recommended!
Excellent location for old Town walks, near to main plaza and many tapas restaurants. Service was impeccable. Fluent english spoken. Beautifully cared-for former palace. Lovely outdoor cocktail area and garden. Excellent shower and bath facilities. Extremely pleasant and efficient staff. Staff valeted the car to and from parking. All in all, a fabulous small boutique hotel both modern and with character at the same time.
Jerez de la Frontera
it was very comfortable, had all the amenities and the owner left finishing touches that we enjoyed such as beer and chips and some personal care kits in the washroom. plenty of blankets and towels and heat which we appreciated because it was cold weather. it was close to all the sights and it was on a quiet street. incredible value for money. best place we rented in the 5 weeks we spent in Spain
The location is excellent, a few minutes' walk from the bus/train station, and right in the city centre. The staff were very helpful and attentive. There was a bath as well as a shower and the bed was comfortable. I didn't use the restaurant or any other facilities so cannot comment on those, but the breakfast seemed rather pricey at €15 so I ate at a nearby cafe.
Jerez de la Frontera
Beautiful hotel with a lot of style. Nice upstairs roof area with some nice views. Also, very clean and bed/room comfortable. The staff is also very nice and accommodating. Also, very clean. Fresh towel (plus unscented yay!) The coffee machine downstairs is also a nice touch. I highly recommend this hotel.
Beautiful hotel in historic building. The room was spacious with very high ceilings. There was a jacuzzi bathtub that was fabulous to use. Very well located to everything in the centro histórico. Great value for the price.
Jerez de la Frontera
Location near the city centre, easy and always very fast response from the host. The apartment was clean and it had everything we needed. It is located in a very quiet area. We really enjoyed our stay in here. Thank you :)
Excellent location right in the city centre. Own parking which was very useful. Large modern rooms very comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. All in all a great city hotel excellent value for money.
We had stayed there before and were satisfied with it, and we were not disappointed this time either. It's a good hotel, well located in the heart of the city and with parking available on site.
The location is good, not far from the railway station, a few minutes from the city centre. The room was clean enough, the bed was comfy.
