Lastres is a beautiful town with amazing views of the ocean.
Lastres is a beautiful town with amazing views of the ocean. The town is positioned on a steep hill above the marina. There is almost no English spoken in the village so you'll need to brush up on your Spanish. On Monday nights there are few options to get a meal. If you get stuck, try the restaurant at the marina. We visited outside high season, so lots of tourist and souvenir shops were closed. Our stay included Monday kitchen closing in our Hotel but two seafood cafe/restaurants were open down by the harbour. The main draws are the views along the coast from above the town and the quaint whaler's and fisherman's village houses in a tangle of pedestrianised back streets; very atmospheric and probably very busy in high season. Well worth a detour, especially if you can book dinner at Hotel Eutemio.
