The house is spectacular, from the 15th or 16th century with many original features preserved. The floor with the guest rooms is completely renovated, with comfy beds, good lighting, sufficient plugs and a new bathroom. The entire house is decorated very tastefully and with great care, combining the old features of the house with a modern touch. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend, this is an exceptional place to stay.

A great option for all peregrinos and a nice change from albergues or a refreshing alternative to hotels or pensions. I am traveling solo but my room could have fit four. I had an entire apartment. The owner was fabulous and prepared a massive breakfast for only me. And early at that! She is very proud of her town and will give you a great history (in Spanish - but she talks slow). She even drove me back to the Camino because the location is a little out of town. Highly recommend - a place to appreciate Spain and escape the Camino bubble…

This hotel is drop dead gorgeous. It has a grand staircase built with beautiful old wood. There are two comfy and beautiful sitting areas on the ground floor. The grounds are gorgeous, beautiful lawn and plants. I am walking the Camino, so it did add a little mileage to my day, but the hostess arranged a cab to take me back to the trail in the AM. They had a pilgrims dinner too.

Elena was yet another wonderful host on this trip. Turns out the house was her family home growing up, and it's beautiful and its location is as well. Panes is a gorgeous little town in a magnificent setting.
