This small hotel is located in a quiet area just 0.9 mi from Playa de Orio Beach and offers free WiFi throughout, a sun terrace and a garden. Exceptional welcome. Very comfortable stay and nice extra touches. Even though there was a regional strike and there were no staff and everywhere was closed, the owner prepared us an evening meal.
Located 1.7 mi from Playa de Antilla, Maddiola Apartment features accommodations with a shared lounge, a garden and a shared kitchen for your convenience. The apartment was excellent the views were amazing and the host was superb! More than perfect!!
Located in Orio, 0.7 mi from Playa de Antilla, MIROTZA ROOMS AND APARTMENTS provides free WiFi and river views. Very clean and quiet with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. The managers are very accommodating and helpful. My room was perfect for a good nights sleep. The window opened to a small lightwell and didn’t need the blackout curtains as it was still dark in my room at 7:30am.
Located in a quiet location in the town of Orio, Hostal Xaloa is just 1.2 mi from Zarautz and 7.5 mi from San Sebastian. All of the rooms have a private bathroom, heating and a cable TV. A place with handmade wooden furnishings, quiet and clean near the city centre. Large comfy, clean room.
Balea 5 - Local Rentss is set in Orio and offers a terrace. Guests staying at this apartment have access to a balcony. The location was perfect, right in front of a small beach, less touristic. On the side are mountains with fantastic view of the sea. Restaurants are in walking distance with good food and good price.
Orio was a small town 20 mins drive from Getaria, which was the town we actually wanted to visit. Orio was unremarkable. Nothing stood out for comment particularly. It was where we could find a hotel for the night in the area.
Igeldo is a very attractive, comfortable Inn situated in a quiet, rural area of the Basque Coast. It is close to the San Sebastian/Donostia area so is a great base for exploration. The shared kitchen facility is excellent. Lots of parking. Quite comfortable albeit single beds, nice bathroom, reasonable luggage storage. Well recommended by us for travellers with their own vehicle.
Local people holiday there, small and friendly, food good and fun trying to work out basque language, menus seldom in English, beaches great - surfers dream ! Life guards present, little provided by way of shade deck chairs etc on beach - BUT no hassle from sellers!!! Few lovely local Places to eat but all good a 20 min pleasant walk from hotel to town square, five mins car. Hotel Antilla which is on the beach - lovely, contemporary, serves good food. Bar on beach suits young surfer types - live music; whilst two restaurants there cater widely; across from hotel bar has great food/ pinchos and light banter re brexit, Scottish independence etc! Cycling is popular everywhere. Canoeing locally is cheap 18 euros half day! Surrounding area beautiful with many lovely beaches. Getari, Zarautz six miles away still small worth visiting for food, great buzz, shopping and beaches.
Orio used (about forty years ago) to be a quaint little fishing village on the banks of the river Orio. It has now developed into a kind of dormer suburb of San Sebastian and this is reflected in the spread of new apartments and their relative high prices. It has easy motorway and rail connections to San Sebastian and other places. There are not many bars (if a pub crawl is your kind of thing) but there are more than enough to keep a thirst slaked. Look out for the restaurants alongside the river where you can have a freshly barbecued fish or steak, both sold by weight, cooked right in front of you. The beach has a good break for surfers but this has declined in quality since the new river wall was built.
Small pleasant town with nice cafes and shops. Good local connections by bus and train. The beach is clean. Lots of bars with pintxos but finding a restaurant less easy, especially at the end of the summer season.
Ridiculously styled building, made to look like a ship. No drink making facilities in room. No private parking, so had to pay 10E per day to use beach car park. Building and grounds looking well worn, although room was clean and functional. Buffet breakfast was fine.
Nice balcony room, huge jacuzzi tub, nice view of ocean and beach. Due to season and day of week of stay, parking for free, either outside public or on site hotel garage. Front desk very friendly and helpful.
The apartment was excellent the views were amazing and the host was superb! More than perfect!!
The room had a perfect location with a superb view of the ocean from our balcony.
