In danger of being ruined by over tourism.
In danger of being ruined by over tourism. Cruise liners disgorging thousands of passengers into the historic centre. The locals are quite right to call for change. With careful preparation one can escape the crowds, but you need to do your homework.

Local buses into Palma only 2 euros.
Local buses into Palma only 2 euros. Many art galleries free and worth visiting. The cathedral is beautiful inside and out. Very good shopping boutique, designer and well known budget shops mixed with tourist good quality items. Has a real buzz in the evening with loads of restaurants all prices. Staff so friendly and coffee shops for croissants in morning great outside eating well in September warm and no need for coats etc. well worth several trips to check out the city ramparts with piazza type squares to people watch. Definitely a must even if staying elsewhere. It does get busy and buses can be packed. You can walk about easily avoid boardwalk along harbour as cyclists think they own the paths.
No real negatives need plenty of spending cash as markets and eating out so tempting. Cafe Bosch at top of the boulevard lovely place for breakfast. Maura cafe near cathedral do good pizzas handmade with loads of meat on and oblong in shape served on a. Lard with hot sizzling cheese and redcurrant glaze plus real. Bread royals with garlic butter a great meal plus calamares. What are you waiting for. Staff delightful

Palma is a fascinating city with a great vibe, many historic buildings, superb shops, bars and restaurants. The many boutique hotels in the old quarter of Palma are truly beautiful and make a visit to Palma memorable.
Charming, friendly people. Unfortunately, there are far too many tourists and our sympathy is with the locals who must feel that their city has been invaded by an alien force. It is probably better to visit in Winter when there are less visitors but all of the amenities are still open and more enjoyable without the excessive crowds

Explore guest reviews of hotels in Palma de Mallorca
This hotel is an absolute gem, situated in an area of the city that has seen better days but some of that is being addressed with works going on to uplift the locale. The hotel itself has been very well renovated, the room was very clean, spacious and comfortable and the bathroom immaculate with large walk in shower. The lounge bar / breakfast area was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious with excellent coffee and a good selection of items to suit all tastes. More than good value for money and way beyond my expectations.
The Hotel is in a bit strange corner but in the middle of (old) downtown. Several restaurants etc. are surrounding the Hotel. The Hotel itself is relatively nice renovated and the stuff have been very helpful and friendly. The combination of Charme of the Hotel and the good educated Stuff made our stay perfect. We definitely can recommend this hotel. In relation to the Price we paid we have to say it was the best potential option.
An Amazing boutique hotel that is nice and quiet and in the perfect spot for the old town. Awesome staff and a great-priced mini bar to drink in an extra large room or pool.
Highly recommend to any couple wanting to stay in Palma
Great location for heading into the old town but still in a quiet area. Close to the beach as well.
Rooftop area was the absolute best part of the hotel - great staff, views, service and facilities.
Breakfast was very good. Location is perfect in the heart of the city, the room and treats are very good. Staff was briliant. If you want to stay in the old town, I definately recommend this hotel.
