We had a hotel in a prime location, right next to Cathedral. The downside to Mallorca is the cruise ships. They get 3 - 5 each day. When they let their people off the city is crazy with people. Hard to move around. Once they leave in the evening, it is nice. Best time of the day. We rented a car and explored the island during the day when the crowds were at the peak. The market prices in the area are quite high. In addition, there seems to be no control over the pricing of beach umbrellas and sunbeds, as each beach applies different rates. A beautiful city, a must to visit. Wonderful architecture and interesting shops. A lovely department store. The cathedral is magnificent. We had a lovely day trip into the mountains. It's a lovely place to visit with the Cathedral and surrounding street very historic, you them have the main shopping area which includes Corte Inglés and Louis Vuitton, if you can be bothered to queue to look at stuff you cant afford!!!
