Halfway between Seville and Córdoba, in the Guadalquivir Valley, is this 15th century Franciscan Monastery converted into a Destino Hotel.

Fantastic stay in a former monastery, it was invaluable for a history enthusiast like me. The accomodation is a perfect base if you would like to visit both Sevilla and Córdoba. The breakfast was lovely with home made pastries and freshly squeezed orange juice. I would recommend to have a dinner in the onsite restaurant as well, it is also an extraordinary culinary experience, the vegetables are grown in the monastery’s own kitchen garden.
A former convent, and featuring a charming courtyard garden, Hospedería Convento de Santa Clara is located in Palma del Río. It offers air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen TVs.

The Feria del Mayo in Palma del Rio was great to see a mini version of the Sevilla Ferias without the bustle of a big city. Great food and service in the terraced 'El Guerra' Restaurant. Bicycle hire and tourist information well organised. El Cordobes Museum fantastic but needs some English translations and some books on bullfighting and Manuel Benitez. The Reina Victoria Gardens full of large trees and roses; beautifully relaxing. Great walks through orange country and the banks of the Guadalquivir. Friendly service at the Cafe Rinconcito opposite Plaza de los Abastos. A guided tour of Palacio Portocarrero a must for history and art/interior design lovers.
The host couldn't do enough for us. We arrived quite late and just wanted to eat at the hotel so Jackson helped us order pizza and provided us with some beers! Great after a long day sightseeing and driving. Breakfast was lovely and rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel had lots of character with a lovely garden and pool.
This is the most beautiful hotel we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. Jackson, the host, was so lovely and attentive, his love for the property shines through and he made our stay so enjoyable. The hotel is full of beautiful artwork and antiques but also has high levels of cleanliness and comfort.
This is much more than a hotel, rather a gorgeous palatial home. We happened to be the only ones staying that night so we lived like Kings and Queens for a day. There is a jacuzzi with cold water, a splash pool on top, and big bedrooms with all the amenities. It really is a luxurious experience.
This hotel is amazing. It's an old building that was once a family home. Everywhere you look there are fascinating things to see - ornate marble pillars, old but well kept furniture, even a bonsai pomegranate tree in the garden. The pool was not huge but enough to have a swim and warm enough too
It is a nice budget hotel worth its money (in our case was 68 euros per night for 2 people).
They have parking but it is not on the premises and the price they charge for it too high in my opinion. It is always possible to just leave the car in the street - the town is very safe.
The hotel is superb - so much character. The pool was great too - very long so that swimming was very enjoyable. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. We are looking forward to staying again!
I love coming to this hotel. The recently remodeled their bar and it looks fabulous. I’ve know the people there for years and they have always been caring and great. Super hospitable and always willing to go the extra mile.
second time we have used this hotel as we travel with a dog.
nice big room with a large bed, good bathroom, nice and clean.
on site parking and a good restaurant and pizza place just across the road.
