This is a bedroom community, filled with just vacationers from Spain, England and a few more. Rows of empty houses in the winter, but pleasant walkways and a good supermarket. The beach is far and in between but the views are stunning. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place to be. There is also a network of good bike roads.

I’ve been coming here for over 15 years now & I still love it. They are still building around various areas. There are lovely restaurants nearby. El Gallego has to be my favourite. The best fish & fillet steak you will ever eat. We like to use it for our base as we cycle & take our bikes with us on holiday. It is great to see the surrounding areas. You will need a car to explore & the beach is 2 miles away.

Lo monte Hotel is a spotlessly clean hotel and even though it says 1 star - it is ideal for a stay. The gent who checked us in was lovely and insisted on seeing us to our room, it had everything we needed. We only found out afterwards that the cafeteria where we had breakfast which we were disappointed in is run by a different company - we will have no problem staying in the lo monte hotel again

Travelled with my husband and my 2 daughters (17 years and 11 years). We also had 4 other families with us staying in apartments beside us. Pool area was good for the kids but we where not allowed to eat/drink at the pool area, not even with plastic glas. No seats at the pool area, you needed to bring your own seat from the terass or balconny. Apartment was very clea, big and had all you needed. Terass (ground floor) was huge. We could sit 20 persons on the terrass (when they brought their own chair. Very close to a small area with 3 restaurangs. We ordered luch from them and brought back to the apartments. Also an ATM close by. Padel arena close and did not disturb (we did not think so anyway) Padel arean had good food and cheap prices on food and drink. 5 min walk to a rather big Super Market. 5 min walk to the beach and to "bar-street".

It isn't your stereo typical British holiday destination, it is definitely more in keeping with local traditions and settings. The place is really quiet off season, to the extend some streets appeared to be deserted during the day. However, really nice walks and fairly central to drive to other regions if you want the hustle & bustle. You will definitely need a car to go places.

Plenty of places to eat whatever type of food you prefer. People very friendly especially if you speak some Spanish. Easy drive to beaches and the Rio Seco. Ideal base for walking or cycling, central location for many other towns. Don't be put off by the outside appearance of some of the bars e.g. try Restaurante Horadada on Calle Mayor if you want a menu del dia.

easy access from motorway. only 15-20 minutes stroll to centre/promenade. We would never have looked at booking a 1 star hotel but for previous reviews which were spot on. Jose and his wife couldn’t have been more helpful, going above and beyond. food in the restaurant was very good (a little more expensive at night than could be had in town)

The hotel was super clean and welcoming. We used to keep our hire bikes in the underground car park and staff opened and shut it for us - it was a lovely base and perfect location for biking to beach and out a various restaurants in Torres and El majon - thank you so much
