The location was great, and the food in the bar was amazing, especially the cocido de berzas, which the waitress said has an award, no surprise it was sensational! The bed was the comfiest out of all the hostels we have stayed on the camino.
Located in Cangas del Narcea in Asturias, Parador de Corias is set in an 11th century monastery. It offers an exhibition area including archaeological remains from the original structure. The property itself was very very nice. Great as a romantic getaway or if you just need to leave the city hustle and bustle behind.
These charming converted farmhouses are located in the western part of Asturias, in the village of Monón. With attractive stone walls, they include an organic farm and gardens, and have a cozy lounge.... Elias is a very pleasant host who would be happy to pick up pilgrims from Alto de la Marta. It‘s on the camino hospitales which is THE nicest day on the Camino Primitivo. It is highly recommendable to stay in the mountains over night explore the cozy area a bit. Elias created ways to a secret waterfall and mill. His friendly wife cooks the best meals you can imagine. Very cozy place, which is an absolutely Highlight and secret that I couldn‘t See in any blog or book.
I would have liked at least an extra day (we were just passing through and stayed only one night). It was a beautiful little town. I walked up to the church and the Palacio de Cienfuegos-Panalba on the hill above the town, and that was neat. Great views. There were plenty of amenities. My companion even bought new shoes. Another couple were happy to find a laundromat. There were a few more historical buildings I would have liked to have explored, and see if there was a way to get down to the lovely river that goes through town. One thing that would have been better would be better Camino signs to show how to head out of town (the ones coming into town were great!).
