The property was modern and easy to navigate. The buffet breakfast was exceptional with wide array of breakfast options. The staff was very helpful and courteous. We are walking the Camino, and the hotel is about a quarter mile off the route, but that just meant we got a really quiet, good night’s sleep.

This beautiful property is both elegant and historic while being warm and welcoming. It’s a short 10 min taxi ride from O Cebreiro where the owner prepared a delicious dinner and treated me like royalty. Rooms are spacious, elegant and very clean and comfortable.

The best hotel so far on our road trip through Northern Spain. Excellent price / deal Clean, quiet, with friendly stuff, great air conditioning. There is a gym, a bar, a restaurant. There are a few parking spaces around the building (supervised), public parking spaces all around the neighborhood and a payable private garage (around 9 euro per night). The Castle is 20 minutes away on foot.

The staff were very courteous and respectful. The hostal is in a quiet area; however is walking distance from Castillo Templario and Cathedral. Has elevator. Room and bathroom were clean and appropriate size. Don Francisco and Alex were a charm. The restaurant across the street.

    I loved the City it was clean and well maintained.

    I loved the City it was clean and well maintained. I got lost and a kind Spanish man helped me get back on the Camino. This man walked with me for 4 kilometres until we found the Camino TRAIL. Ponferrada the City should mark the Camino trail better than they have. Even signage within the city saying “Camino that way. A few other city residents did not have a clue on how to get back to the Camino. The Knights Templar Castle was a sight to see.

    Easy to find. Safe secure parking. Nice clean basic hotel supported by first class helpful staff. Evening meal was great value for money. Our thanks to Merce at reception for the assistance checking in and sorting out our parking. Additionally our thanks to Arancha who went above and beyond during the evening birthday meal for one of our colleagues. We travelled from Hotel Boa Vista in Porto to this hotel. Boa Vista could learn a lot from this hotel in relation to customer services and staff manners. Well done Ponferrada Plaza.

    Although the "medieval knights" theme was a bit over the top, the hotel provided everything we needed in the way of clean and comfortable beds for the night. Location near the railway station was good (we had an early train to catch in the morning), and it was an easy walk to the historic centre of Ponferrada.
