Beautiful, colorful and spacious apartment, just like the pictures show. The location was perfect for us, nice to be close to the harbour and cable car over to the other side of the river. Only a short walk to the metro, so easy to get around and to the city centre. The kitchen was well equipped. The hostess was really nice and helpful.

Ideally situated small hotel on the outskirts of Bilbao and only 15 mins from the port. Very friendly and obliging staff, good breakfast, easy car parking behind secure gates and comfortable and clean rooms. The only negative was outside of the hotel's control - an oil refinery close by which we did not fund noisy but did get a smell of oil from on occasion. We would stay again. We had some basic Spanish phrases, and the owners had some English, so we were able to communicate. Some nice Basque tavernas in the local village also.

There’s a lot to see in Portugalete - plenty of information at the Tourist Office. The nearest beach is just minutes away
The hanging bridge (puente Colgante) is an extraordinary piece of engineering and is the most predominant feature here
There’s a produce market - fruit/veg/flowers and plants three times a week.
There are boat trips too but these only operate at weekends from 15 September
We found a great Mexican restaurant in the old town

The bridge is interesting, but you can't spend a week looking at a bridge!
El Bote tour around the bay and up river to the city center is very good value for money and highlights the contrast between the depressed industrial wastelands and the modern developments in the city.
Many of the attractions in the Tourist office leaflet were permanently closed, ie Getxo Aquarium and the Salazar Tower, so check websites first.
Although there are lots of bars and cafes, we had problems finding restaurants open within elderly walking distance. We had a great lunch in Náutico Berria but when we went again one evening without booking, found that the kitchen is only open in the evenings at the weekend.

The location of the room was excellent, with views up and down the river.
The staff were very helpful. The bar and restaurant were very good, with a truly excellent Breakfast.
The parking was on site and very accessible.
Beautiful apartment, very clean and as described. Had everything we needed for our week. Great transport links. There’s a supermarket right next door open until 9pm. Short walk to Portugalete metro station (buy a Barik card and top up from the machine in the station) and short walk to the bridge over to Getxo (for the beach) and you can use your Barik card for the crossing. Great play areas close by if you have little ones. Host was lovely.
The apartment is very comfortable and spacious, full of light. Great views. Best location in the old centre of Portugalete, literally 2 min walk to Puente Colgante, Town Hall and Santa Maria church.
It’s fully refurbished, with a modern and practical layout, ideal for a large family.
Absolutely just a bed, with a pin to get into the room and thats it, wifi was there, the room was very very small, there were no desk to sit and work,
All in all like a ghost hotel, with nothing else than a bed and a hot shower
would i do it again

Welcoming hosts. Spacious, clean and comfortable flat among Portugalete locals. Free parking for our car (potluck for a nearby parking space but we were lucky). A short walk to the metro. A 15 minute walk to the river in Portugalete.
We did have a problem with one member of staff but all the rest of the staff were very nice and helpful.
The hotel is in a good location. There are lots of bars and restaurants a short walk away.
