Roquetas de Mar is a charming place that remains relatively undiscovered compared to other more crowded destinations. It has a wonderful local vibe, with many residents still enjoying the area’s authentic atmosphere. While it can get busy during the summer months, it never feels overcrowded like other popular spots. The tapas are absolutely delicious, and the local people are warm and welcoming. The sea is clean and warm (most of the summer). Area was quiet and peaceful. We went at the end of the season but it seemed more tranquil than similar places we had visited.. It was also more 'Spanish'.and less full of UK tourists. Resort was clean and well maintained. Good local bus service. The city of Almeria was beautiful and well worth at least one visit. Beaches are wide and quiet with a wide promenade and separate cycle tracks. It was fairly quiet when we went, despite a large hotel...
It was fairly quiet when we went, despite a large hotel opposite. Roquetas de Mar is a very clean, well maintained resort with all the facilities you might need. The Castillo de Santa Ana is worth visiting as is the small Aquarium. Beaches are lovely(very small stones rather than sandy but not uncomfortable to walk or lay on). The We had hired a car at the airport and found our way round very easily although the bus services will get you to where you need. There is a street market on Thursdays and the Gran Plaza shopping mall has a nice variety of shops and food outlets. We will be back againGuest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 6.0

We have no idea about Roquetas as we seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. We drove around but didn’t find a town centre. Came back and ate in the Italian restaurant directly underneath the apartment. Quite a bit of noise late at night from the restaurants.Guest review byJulieSpain
