Featuring a bar and a terrace, Hotel Tres Arcos is located in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, a 6-minute walk from San Lorenzo de El Escorial Bus Station and 0.8 miles from El Escorial Monastery. We really enjoyed our stay. Location is good - short walk from bus station and town centre. Our room had a balcony and a window, on different wall, so it was bright and airy with good views. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was good. We only used the bar/restaurant for coffee one morning, but it seemed fairly popular and the coffee was good. There was free WiFi, but it wasn't strong in our room, so I used my mobile hotspot.

Hotel Florida is located right in the historical center of town, just steps from the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo, sometimes referred to as the 8th wonder of the world. So close to El Escorial. The lady at the desk the day we arrived was wonderful, fluent English and so pleasant. She arranged a tour for us to see The Valley of The Fallen as soon as we arrived. And the place for lunch was just out the door, having delicious pizza.

The monastery was amazing outside but the inside was stupendous. Make time for the tour. You will not regret it. For me one day and night was enough. We ate at Bar los Mariscos and the food was amazing. They also had an English menu which was a great help to two people with zero Spanish.🙃When we tried to order 5 tapas dishes the waiter told us that would be way too much and advised us to start wit 3. He was totally right. Not a luxurious place but filled with Spanish people eating ( (always a good sign)
Wow! What a wonderful place! Fernando is so amazing with all the minor details. I was so impressed with all the details he thought of. As we arrived there was a fruit basket, a bottle of cava, plenty of coffee pods, water bottles in the refrigerator, etc. The place is cozy and warm with stunning views of the mountains! I highly recommend a nice visit to the countryside at this loft!
San Lorenzo de el Escorial is a nice small city with plenty of restaurants (we stayed at hotel Victoria Palace and 150 mts from the hotel we had dinner in a very nice Italian restaurant, recommended by the hotel). The monastery is very impressive, Free of charge to visit for EU citizens on wednesday and thursday from 17.00 until 20.00 hours. You need about 2 hours to visit the monastery and gardens (lots of staircases). Avila is also nice (about 50 minutes by car) to stay 1/2 a day do not forget to walk on the city walls which is very impressive.
Incredible monument, so much to see, and a real chance to get an idea of the problems of Phillip the Second trying to control the Armada from this remote location as it was then. Research Escorial before you go so that you don't miss anything. Also you must visit the Valley of The Fallen, built by prisoners of the Civil War, and now housing Franco's grave. The whole building cut into the hillside, it is unique.
Walkable and historical city. World-class sites and many "Wow" moments. Good restaurants and parks. Train and bus service are good. Definitely a must do for any visit to Spain for the history buff.
UNESCO heritage site. Take your time. So much to see and thought audio guide in El Escorial excellent. Much of the information in town on plaques only in Spanish so can be challenging to have full flavour. Locals are friendly and smiling. Here in sunny March days. Probably packed in height of tourist season
The location is a few minute walk from the center of town and the keeper is a true gentleman and is concerned for all of the guests' needs including advice for Covid testing and transport to Madrid airport. On arrival, we enjoyed a briefing on the best hikes, restaurants and a comprehensive description of the Monastery. Breakfast is available for reasonable price. We loved our room full of charm.
San Lorenzo de El Escorial
When we arrived there during the rainy evening it reminded me the Overlook Hotel. Felt myself Jack Torrens. A bit creepy place, taking into account there was no cellphone coverage (at all, No Service...) and wifi working only at the reception. But the stuff was really friendly and manager was amazing! Nature, fresh air, great views, no ghosts.
Ten minutes’ walk to the Escorial complex and five minutes to the center of town with restaurants. Beautiful view of local countryside with Madrid skyline on the horizon, if you booked a room with a terrace. Stylish, old fashioned public areas like lobby, reading salon (Salon de Lectura) and dining room. Friendly staff. Good wi-fi.
Staff was extraordinary, always available with a wide and frank smile and very helpful. The hotel is beautiful and breakfast was excellent. Room was spacious, pleasant, clean and very quite. Public transportation is nearby as well as restaurants and Cafés.
Not so far from Royal Monastery of SL de El Escorial just few minutes of walk on the same street as hotel. Nice view to city!
Good location. Short walk to the San Lorenzo de El Escorial Royal Palace and downtown. Good breakfast and great coffee :)
Was the best hotel suite ever. Friendly and competent staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Happy to stay again!
