The Emperatriz III is located on the entrance to Salamanca, close to the N-501. It has a swimming pool, free parking for cars and free WiFi throughout. This is a 4 stars hotel with free parking and a EUR 5.00 for a buffet breakfast . Walk along the river and in 20 minutes you are at the Roman bridge. Cross the river and both catedrals and the university is right there. Go alitlle further and you are at the Plaza Mayor.
Hotel Regio is a large complex located 10 minutes’ drive from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Salamanca. It features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, gym and free WiFi access. I asked for a room at the front and they organised that for me, excellent. I always stay here on my trips to UK and back, never disappointed.
Casablanca Hotel Studios is located in a quiet area of Santa Marta de Tormes, 3.1 mi from Salamanca’s historic center. It features self-catering accommodations with free Wi-Fi and free parking. Cleanliness was exceptional, staff were friendly and helpful. Useful field next door to walk the dog.
We stayed over night only, both ways - Santander - Lisbon and return. We plan on maybe staying 2 nights sometime in the future so we can explore Santa Marta and Salamanca. We self-cater so bring own food and cook. We have stayed at 'Casablanca' on several occasions now and have come to really like it; clean, well priced and friendly hosts.
This is a great hotel and it is about a 10 minute (brisk) walk to the shops and restaurants at Sta Marta de Tormes. There are some good tapas bars offering great value food and wine with usually someone who speaks English about. One tip for finding the hotel which helped us a lot was that when you are heading in towards Salamanca, look out for the signs for Madrid and follow them. After a few exits, you will actually see the back of Regio's from the road (look to your left) and then take the Sta Marta de Tormes exit. This avoids going through the busy road closer to Salamanca central.
Salamanca was just amazing. The buildings are incredible, in every level. I did not like to see several groups of 13/14 years old smoking, and even worse, one group incorporated a kid who was, at most, 8 years old - it caused me great anger.
Small town with plenty of nice bars & restaurants with good food at cheap prices. Locals were very friendly. Everywhere within walking distance & buses available regularly to go into Salamanca. We ate at the local chinese which had friendly staff, lots of choice, good food & great value for money.
Have used the hotel caravan site which is part of hotels location en route to Algarve in previous years. Not towing caravan this year so thought would give the hotel consideration and pleased we did and will stay next time travelling South.
We Have stayed here over a period of years but always on the campsite so we did all the sightseeing then. Our last 4 visits have been by car and only overnight, so the answers I give will be from previous experiences.
