Cute cottage! Loved having a kitchen to make a meal. Location is a short walking distance to the center of the city, across from the river dividing Cantabria and Asturias. We took some very nice photos along the river with mountains in the background. There was a laundromat within walking distance, relevant for fellow pilgrims.

This hotel is drop dead gorgeous. It has a grand staircase built with beautiful old wood. There are two comfy and beautiful sitting areas on the ground floor. The grounds are gorgeous, beautiful lawn and plants. I am walking the Camino, so it did add a little mileage to my day, but the hostess arranged a cab to take me back to the trail in the AM. They had a pilgrims dinner too.

Elena was yet another wonderful host on this trip. Turns out the house was her family home growing up, and it's beautiful and its location is as well. Panes is a gorgeous little town in a magnificent setting.

Our stay in Colombres was short but truly excellent. The hotel was clean, quiet, and very comfortable — just what we needed after a long day of walking. Check-in was easy, the staff was kind, and the location was perfect for Camino pilgrims. Slept really well and appreciated the peaceful atmosphere of the town. Would definitely stay here again!

    I have stayed in the 2* Hotel Canal in Unquera for a week in early October almost every year since 2015 while attending an annual classic motorcycle rally in neighbouring Colombres. Unquera is a small town near to the coast on the border of Calabria and Asturias. It is on one of the more popular Camino routes and close to the Picos de Europa. The town has several bars, restaurants and basic shops. I would not describe Unquera as a tourist destination, but as a working town with all of the usual facilities of a small community. I like it for that.

    Have stayed here almost every year since 2015 while attending the Colombres Classic Motorcycle Rally in early October. This is a basic 2* hotel with very friendly staff that is located in town with access to a choice of bars and restaurants. This stay was a one-nighter on return from a trip to Portugal following the rally, having spend seven nights here the previous week. Love it!

    Great location for walking and public transport (buses and FEVE train), this is a spacious, quiet hotel with incredibly helpful staff (all of them!) who answered every question and found solutions for every glitch. Clean and really comfortable with tasty, simple breakfast included.

    Looks like a normal hotel from the outside but it had the most powerful shower I have ever experienced. Better than a 5-star hotel or those jets in the spa. Like a deep tissue massage in the shower. Amazing.
