A beautiful town near the Atlantic coast which is a haven for "foodies". Has endless eating options and the town is a joy just to walk around and soak up the atmosphere. It has a castle (closed at the moment), old city walls, views out to Africa, a beautiful main square AND it's only 20 minutes by car from the beach.
This is a small "White Hill town" that is not on the main tourist circuit. It is a quaint little town and we got a good feel/vibe from the town. We found a tavern with outdoor seating at a highpoint in the town, which had a great view and a nice community feel in the afternoon before dinner time. Walking around town was fun, We had dinner on the town square which was lively. It was enjoyable watching the young people having a good time.
This is a wonderful, atmospheric small city with much to explore. If you are willing to walk and look and climb many steep streets you will find treasures. You could take several days to look around Vejer and the countryside to the east including the Cork Forest. It is also a quiet base from which to explore Cadiz, Baelo Claudia, Tarifa, Jerez and the Sherry Triangle. If we are ever lucky enough to return, surely we will stay in beautiful Vejer de la Frontera.
Lovely place full of life and history. Well preserved old city walls and intriguing ally ways. Sweetly decorated patios. Friendly people. Plenty of bars with great tapas. Loved the old castle, church and monuments.
The restaurants we visited - La Juderia, El Jardin de Califa and Casa Varo - were among the best! In fact all the places where we ate or drank coffee, or tea were good. It is easy to get around Vejer de la Frontera because the town is compact, but I think you need to be reasonably fit and have comfortable shoes to wear. Most people would think a car is essential but we managed quite happily using buses, trains and the occasional taxi to visit other towns, and to get from and to Sevilla Airport. Another time I would choose to fly into Jerez from the UK and cope with the two hour wait in Madrid - Gatwick to Sevilla was direct. It was a wonderful holiday. I find the Spanish people warm hearted and happy people who love to laugh!
Vejer is a very special pueblo blanco that you really should visit if you have the opportunity. There are plenty of very good restaurants and bars to meet most budgets and so much history on view generally... not to mention the beautiful vistas from the walls and miradors. Any negatives? Well • It is definitely a tourist hotspot, with the usual plethora of shops aimed at that market - and a huge number of day-trippers at any one time. • You should be aware that it is very hilly, with some astonishingly steep streets, so if you have mobility issues, be warned.

Vejer de la Frontera
The location in the middle on Vejer is the best. The hotel has been created out of a lot of original village houses and is quirky and different. It has a lovely terrace for evening drinks and a very good Morrocan restaurant which is not to be missed. Tables need to be reserved in advance.
Casa Aura is a lovely little boutique hotel. Great location, the beautifully restored historic property with a lot of character and stunning views over the surrounding countryside. We loved Vejer de la Frontera and we loved staying in this beautiful casa. We will be back for sure! :)
Vejer de la Frontera
Great location with bonus of a free car park nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious. It was very convenient being able to have breakfast at the adjacent cafe, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall this hotel is good value for money.
Absolutely wonderful hotel, room was gorgeous, with lots of space. Location is superb, right in the middle of the historical village centre with great views from the room windows. Parking very nearby, easy to access and with hotel reserved spaces. Exceeded the expectations.
The views of the town and surrounding countryside from the hotel was breathtaking. The remake of the old building into the hotel was perfect in my opinion. The breakfast was fabulous and at a good value. We were also given a room upgrade at no additional cost.
Vejer de la Frontera
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Superb location. The room was spotlessly clean, everything felt new and well-maintained. Never had trouble to find parking space in front of the hotel. This place totally exceeded my expectations.
The location is a bit out of the way but very nice and the hotel itself and the courtyards are lovely. The sheltered central courtyards with flowers and fountains are especially nice given that this is such a windy part of Spain.
The hotel is is an excellent central location. The main bar is lively with lots of locals dropping in for drinks and food. We requested a double bed and got a huge King Size bed which was amazing!

You get what you pay for. Very friendly staff. Went out of their way to help us. The place is no five start hotel but it was very clean and unpretentious
Reception staff very helpful. Hotel very quirky and full of character. Both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were excellent. Good location.
