As historical city Loviisa is well balanced mixture of old and new. Overall the city is well kept; harmony, peace fulness and safety is the feeling that greets the first time visitor. There are interesting places for walking around the city, especially in the old part. Lovely relaxed town with a nice mix of old wooden and newer architecture. Walking through the unspoilt old wooden town is a delight. The bay and harbour area are good for gentle wandering around. The small maritime museum is interesting and does a good job explaining the local history - worth a visit. Unspoilt and not overrun with tourists.
