Serenity and close to nature.Amazing and attentive staff from the reception desk to the restaurant and to the kitchen area.The delectable restaurant spread with lots of choices.The outdoor activities was great. Ice fishing with Justin and Zali was the best and one of the highlights our stay.They were a tandem of professionalism with excellent work ethics,They also put safety first as the priority. Dinner - The hotel provided a variety of meats including salmon, herring, and lamb. We don't eat beef, so it was such a pleasure to have other kinds of meat :). Breakfast - The breakfast variety is good enough, bread, boiled eggs, herrings, fresh pears - are good for us. Room - so like as it was advertised, half igloo with clear glass. We enjoyed the view of Pines at day and enjoy the stars at nights. The room had enough electricity outputs for our appliances. The wifi was good, once connected it stayed. What we liked the most was we saw the NORTHERN LIGHTS at our first night!! And it was more than 40 minutes. The hotel provided us the application for Northern lights alert and it worked so precisely.

Everything! The (feels isolated) location in the woods and closeness to town, the pre dug tunnels in the snow to play in, the heated floors in the bathroom, the huge couch, the kids loved the “secret room” and the swing. They loved the swing so much they are now asking for one in our house! We even made dinner one night and stayed in. And got an aurora showing!

    Saariselka is a wonderland in winter.

    Saariselka is a wonderland in winter. You can easily get all the required things such as food from K-market. There are lots of activities you can do in Saariselka such as skiing, snowshoeing, Ice Karting, bowling, Aurora Hunting tours, etc. You can easily reach here from Rovaniemi City by using public bus. There is a Ski bus that runs between Saariselka village and Saarselka Ski resort. I did my beginner ski lesson here. It was great. I spent my Christmas holidays here and most things are available to do. I did my skiing on Christmas day itself.

    We spent a total of 7 days in Lapland. 2 near Ivalo, 3 in Kiilopaa, 2 in Saariselka proper. As a family some liked Ivalo better, others Kiilopaa, and others Saariselka. We stayed for 7 days to maximize our chances to see the Northern Lights and were fortunate to see them for 2 nights in a row. If we weren’t concerned about seeing Northern Lights, in terms of special “Lapland specific” experiences, I would have been satisfied with maybe 2 or 3 nights (husky, reindeer, snowmobile, ice fishing). But, if you spend extra days, there’s plenty to do — ice karting, cross country ski, snow shoe-Ing, ski/snowboarding, Siida museum, etc.

    Amazing resort away from the hustle and bustle and commerciality of busier Lapland resorts. Lovely nature walks, lots of family activities like husky rides, skiing, snow shoeing etc. and very cost accommodation.

    Saariselka was fabulous in August, there were very few other tourists around so it was lovely and quiet. Lots of people drive up to the highest point for the sunset but our Glass Cube was just a few hundred metres away, on the other side of the hill, so we could just saunter up to enjoy the view. Met reindeer on the way back.

    Its very very Beautiful ,Do the Northern Lights chasing & the Husky Rides with Arctic Timetravels . They are the best. Saariselka is Untouched, amazing & virgin. Difficult to express in words as you should visit to feel the place, its Heaven on Earth.

    If you're going skiing, Saariselkä is a good option and you can stay there for a week, for example. If you are looking for the Northern Lights, maybe 3 nights would be ok, but you you should pray for good weather, with clear skies, and , of course, for the aurora to appear.

    Nilikuru g18 was a wonderful place to stay. The property itself was immaculately clean, warm, welcoming and had everything we could have needed. The sauna was lovely to end each day! The kitchen had plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils, the living area was comfortable, the beds were comfy and the location was perfect. I have no doubt that we will book this property again for future trips to Saariselka.
