Small city, easy to walk around to get to places in the city...
Small city, easy to walk around to get to places in the city, slippery in the winter, terrain is uphill and down hill sometimes but railings are everywhere. Really good restaurants like Aristova and Barbara.A lovely corner cafe and book store called Paname Supermarkets have nearly everything including GF breads.People are very friendly and help you if and when lost.Must visit the red houses!

It’s the town center of Faroe Islands.
It’s the town center of Faroe Islands. A charming town but not much to do. There are some good restaurants but the food was a bit on the pricy side, which is understandable considering they may be imported or flown from other places. Getting around the islands by car is fairly easy. It’s feasible to drive to the sightseeing spots on the map within a day, if no hiking is needed. Don’t miss the Mulafossur!

One of my favorite cities (and I've travelled a lot).
One of my favorite cities (and I've travelled a lot). It's the biggest city in the Faroe islands, yet the feeling is different compared to any city in other countries. Peacefull, well maintained beautiful city where you can find everything you need .
Lots of restaurants and bars around the harbour area, very easy to find orientate.

Lovely old town, cathedral with pretty garden and turf roves of parliament buildings. Can you find the ancient circle carved into the rock near the water.
Good Tourist Info with loo.
Lovely lunch in cafe set back from Main Street which also sold cheese.
Toasted sourdough sandwich……very nice.
Do visit National Art Gallery near cute wooded park with pond……if you can find it……best to ask!

Torshavn is a lovely place to visit, and the local people...
Torshavn is a lovely place to visit, and the local people are very friendly and helpful. It feels very safe overall, and there is enough of interest to sustain a 3/4 day stay. There are good restaurants (some expensive - depending on what you're used to) and there is good quality food on offer. Getting around is easy, with most of the Town being walkable - with the local "Red" busses being free to use. Exploring beyond Torshavn needs planning. Some bus routes offer a morning departure but can have a late return, with not enough interest for the casual traveller at the destination for more than a couple of hours. Be aware that Shops etc. close at 13:00/14:00 on Saturday, and on Sundays everything is closed (including the local busses, and some of the cafes and restaurants!)
The ferry to Nolsoy is cheap and only 30 minutes. However, if you are NOT hiking there is only 1 shop/cafe (closes Saturday at 13:00) and 1 other cafe (Maggie's was open, friendly and with basic food (chips/burgers/pizza) and worth a stop). For non-hikers there is only an hour/90 minutes of interest, but you may have a several hour wait for the return. Maybe in peak season it's better - I was there end April.
The apartment is very centrally located, in the immediate vicinity of the National Gallery and the stadium. The center of Tórshavn can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes. The ferries to Nolsoy, Suðuroy and Sandoy are in close proximity.
The holiday apartment is modernly furnished, including a kitchen with a dishwasher. A washing machine can also be used. The contact with the landlord was very pleasant and he was always helpful with questions. It was a pleasant place to get back to after an eventful day, exploring the Faroe Islands.
We had a wonderful time in The Faroe Islands and at “In the heart of Torshavn”. The place we can simply call home away from home during our stay of 26-29 Dec 2022. We actually arrived very early morning (3AM) instead of night due to flight delayed but the host was always in contact and there to help with any problem. Very convenience and close to everything within a short walk. We highly recommended this place, book it while you can! Thank you host! You and your company are wonderful people with great service mind. :)
Best deal in Torshavn, without a doubt. Very close to the harbour, with a fantastic wi-fi connection, ultra-clean, very private for relaxation after a long day of hiking, this was the best value for money for me. I stayed at apartment 8 for 6 nights, it was completely cleaned upon arrival, comfortable and fully equipped with a huge TV, heat that worked, hot water and a large bathroom. The instructions to get the key were clear and timely and all my requests and questions were answered promptly.
The hotel is in a convenient location with easy walking distance to town. Parking is free and plentiful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We had 2 rooms booked for our family. One room was in an older part of the hotel and was a bit smaller in size, and it had a smaller bathroom. The other room was in the newer part of the hotel and was quite a bit larger, and it had a larger bathroom. We were still comfortable and happy enough in the smaller room, though.
The apartment was perfect for our travel group of four friends. It is a cozy place to stay between activities on the Faroe Islands. We could park our car right in front of our house, which we've used to explore the islands. The owners were quick to answer if we had questions beforehand, during, or after our stay. We took the ferry from Denmark and could "check in" early and leave late as the ferry arrived in the morning and left in the evening.
There was an ok breakfast from 7 am–10 am so you could also sleep in a bit. You could get also coffee and tea for free during the day. Only bad thing was the eggs, there was not possible to get an hard-boiled egg (I asked for one but they were not either hard-boiled).
The location is good, close to the city centre. Close to a sea shore with beautiful view of Nólsyarfjørður.
The cheapest hotel we could find in Tórshavn which is very expensive.
The unit is immaculately clean, super comfortable and has ample parking available steps away from the place. Alvur was friendly and responded immediately to any question; he also made sure I did not overpay. I cooled easily in the kitchen. I loved this place so booked one more night was the two I had planned. The walkable “downtown” part of Torshavn is 5 minutes by car.
This place was perfect for my 1 week in The Faroe Islands. I've started ordering a little room, but the Host gave me a bigger room instead. Fantastic service and good customer support. I would definitely book there again if I come back.
People were helpful and the fact that you could make your own food in the kitchen was a lifesaver!
Modern and comfortable hotel overlooking Torshavn. Nice rooms, very quiet and well equipped. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Could not try the bar, restaurant or breakfast thanks to the Covid quarantine, but room service was quite efficient and we were able to have somme good diner and breakfast in our rooms.
The room was not the biggest, but its layout and facilities are excellent. I loved the breakfast provided, with a fair selection to choose from (excellent scrambled eggs, by the way). Finally, I love the central location of the hotel, as it meant that I could go around the city with ease.
New and modern interior. The hotel has a large outdoor parking space and it's well connected to major routes out of Torshavn. Breakfast selection was very good. We especially enjoyed the selection of local craft beers in the Lobby Bar.
The hotel is very central; you only have to walk 15 minutes to the central bus station and the ferry port. The communication was easy and June is very nice. Compared to other stays in Torshavn, the prize was very reasonable.
Perfect location in Torshavn. Everything at walking distance including a free car park. The apartment is super quiet, warm and spacious. Hens Petur, the host is a lovely person, very polite and welcoming!
The location is absolutely perfect. In the city center, right next to the beautiful Tórshavn marina. The room was very comfortable, breakfast was excellent. Fantastic place to stay and explore the Faroes.
It is a large apartment, with all the amenities you need. Very well located and just a 10 min walk to the old part of Torshavn. It also had a parking space which was very convenient.
Modern, comfortable, clean and well equipped. Perfect stay in the middle of Torshavn. Everything is in walking distance. Parking in front of the house no problem.
