central location friendly staff and comfortable room
Lovely little town full of friendly people. The Chateau Fontainebleau was spectacular! My husband and I have toured Versailles twice, but always found it extremely crowded and so difficult to take things in, while being jostled by other guests. Fontainebleau was nothing like that at all. It IS a magnificent chateau, not to be missed in terms of size, architecture and beauty. What is missing is the crowds. Most of the time, we were alone in the rooms (save a few security guards). It made it so much more pleasant to be able to actually take our time and really look at things rather than being constantly jostled along by the crowds of tourists. If you are anywhere nearby, definitely take the time to see it.

Fontainebleau is easily the rival of Versailles, and the bonus is there are far less people squeezing around. The gardens are perfect for a stroll around the water features, people picnicking on the grass and exploring hidden gems within them. The Palace was amazing, without the gold bling of some but with vastly richer history and ornate features easily a match for anything.
The town clearly has a multitude of dining options, we got Italian from Pizza Mimi which was wonderful, and we found a quaint little church and some unique little shops in the short time after the Palace closed.
Skip the day-trip do yourself a favour and stay longer to properly explore everything this beautiful part of France just out of Paris has to offer.

We had a family break celebrating my 60th birthday on Easter Sunday and we met up with family who live nearby. There is plenary to do for the Easter break in the hotel. They provide everything you need and more. Lovely feel staff friendly. We didn’t eat food as we did our own celebrations but it looked lovely and well laid out. I would happily stay here again.

We took the tourist train thru the gardens to get our orientation, then did our own walk. Even in October it was a great walk.
Did a self guided tour of the chateau with an audio guide - much better with the guide than it would have been without. Some amazing history explained!
The shops, restaurants & the walk ability were all great.

The chateau is enormous with some of the best rooms I have ever seen. Lots of history particularly about Napoleon with many of his personal items. Extensive gardens to explore.
The town has numerous shops and restaurants.

My visit to Fontainebleau was to watch the Ladies Real Tennis World Championships in the Chateau. Great event , hotel was close by . The staff in the restaurants visited were all great , despite a busy Easter week with great weather and lots of tourists . Dined at both lower price and higher price restaurants .
Location is superb - right across from the chateau of Fontainebleau - we could even see it from our windows from the 3rd floor. Our room was not big but then neither are we, we stayed in the attic room which overlooked the chateau - the hotel has some character and everything was simple but nice and clean. Breakfast was simple but nice. There is public paid parking just down the street (like 50m away).
I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Fontainebleau for the Chateau. Fantastic location for visiting the chateau. Just one block away, and two blocks from the downtown shops and cafés. Very simple hotel with not a lot of amenities, but the price was good and the location was perfect. We were even able to store our luggage after checkout so we could visit the chateau.
This hotel was literally across from the Chateau Fontainbleau, yet was actually not overpriced for what they delivered. It was very quiet, the room was quite spacious, and there was a beautiful courtyard. It was in walking distance of the town center, with access to restaurants, and shops, not to mention an excellent seafood restaurant literally across the street.
We loved everything about this place. The rooms are nice and very well decorated, it is very charming. The patio is beautiful and great for a late night glass of Armagnac. The owner, Muriel is very ‘charmante’ and gives extremely great attention to her guests. Breakfast was great and everything was fresh. Loved this place very much and will be back for sure….
The location is very convenient: close to INSEAD and the city centre and the castle. The hotel is situated on a very quiet street, some of the rooms (and luckily mine) have a view on a charming and green garden, which could also be used by residents. The bedding and shower were comfortable and in mint condition. The breakfast was good.
Location to visiting the chateau at Fontainebleau was excellent—just across the street. The room size was generous, and it had a small refrigerator and good coffee and tea making equipment. Parking for our car was close by, and the hotel validated our ticket for a reduced rate of 10 euro for 24 hours.
Excellent hotel! Beautiful location and the staff were friendly, caring and always smiling! They were happy to speak English and engage in conversation. All were interested in how the holiday was going. The room was modern, clean and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast delicious! Highly recommended.
The apartment is really good size for a family of four. Nice and upgraded kitchen. Bedrooms are really nice size. The living room and dining area is good and has an open style. Most Americans will find it just like any other 2 bedroom apartment here.
I stayed at the hotel for one week while at a course in Insead. New hotel with comfortable basic rooms larger than what you usually find in France. Great location both for Insead and center. Highly recommend this hotel
The location is in center of Fontainebleau and near all the shops, grocery and restaurants (reachable in few minutes by foot).
The place has a nice style and very quiet. you feel like at home - cozy place.
The apartment is very well located in Fontainebleau close to the palace, forest, and city center. It is also very well compartimented inside. The sauna is a little something extra that is really cool.
The hotel haas a garage where we could park our bicycles. We were able to leave our luggage for the day and when we returned found they had delivers the bags up the stairs for us.
Very nice hotel for the money, also super friendly staff and convenient location for INSEAD visitors. Facilities were above my expectation. Perfectly worked for my purposes.
location was great, next to Chateau Fontainebleau, restaurants, bar and downtown.
Breakfast had all we needed and good, although not included. Quirky and quaint
A little lovely hotel with very friendly staff. I wish come here again. Location was great, close restaurants, cafes, shopping. I didn't need a transport.
