A busy city centre hotel, but the staff were very helpful and friendly. Good choice of continental breakfast. Rooms reasonable size for a short stay. Good size bed. Parking in the 24/7 car park below the hotel (under the neighbouring Hypermarket), was easy and good value for two days. On a busy road, so some road noise, but not bad at night. Recommended.
The 4-star Mercure hotel is located in front of France's biggest medieval cathedral, which is listed as a Unesco World Heritage site.

The location was amazing! Very close to the cathedral as well as restaurants and shopping. Also close to the train station even though we still took a taxi. The suite we had was wonderful. Spacious with a large private balcony with great views. It rained most of the time but the balcony was covered so we could still enjoy it. Bed was very comfortable! My husband raved about how good the burger in the restaurant was. He loved it! Good selection of fresh foods for breakfast.

Beautiful property and amazing restaurant. The staff was beyond friendly and kind. We loved the friendly and cheerful woman who checked us in and personally walked us to our room across the street. So sweet and amazing asset to the hotel. Same with our amazing waiter for dinner that night. The food was seriously amazing.

The first impression of the town is the concrete 1960s...
The first impression of the town is the concrete 1960s railway station, which more resembles a 'Soviet' eastern block city. Typical post-war reconstruction. The underpasses and shortcuts do not show on street maps and tend to be the home of migrants and tramps overnight. A short walk into the town reveals an older modernised French city. I did not see many older people walking around. It seems to be a city of young workers and students. Plenty of restaurants and cafes on a nice day out - but don't stay for more than one or two days passing through.

A wonderful place.
A wonderful place. Needless to say the Cathedral is maginificent. The town is an ideal place for cyclists. Cycle lanes and signposts all over the place. We went on the cycle path along the Hortillonages, wonderful gardens and cottages along the river Somme.

Lovely area, great centre for exploring the Somme area.
Lovely area, great centre for exploring the Somme area. Plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. We particularly enjoyed the area by the river for eating out - lots of different cuisines to choose from; we also found excellent selections of beers and wines to choose from. There are several museums to visit (although we didn't this visit) and it is a very easy town to walk around - we didn't get lost once!

Amiens is a beautiful city with lots of shops, restaurants and bars. Beautiful old buildings are a bonus. We ate in La Brasserie Jules, which provided us with authentic French cuisine at a somewhat affordable price. 3 course menu, a main and a dessert with a bottle of wine came to €91. Which I feel is quite good, compared to Dublin!

It is a lovely city and the hortillonages are very interesting and lovely to walk in.
The cathedral is well worth a visit and we had the privilege of attending Sunday Mass there which we loved. Very reverent and befitting of true worship. Beautiful singing.
We can also recommend Ad Hoc Café in the St Leu district. Good food and well priced; good vibe.

Facilities are brand new. Outstanding communication from the property managers/owners who were super friendly. Double glazed windows keep the wampth in and sound out. I really couldn't recommend enough ! The location is fantastic, and although parking isn't provided, there is street parking for a low cost and underground within comfortable walking distance. 10/10 best stay we had during our time in France. Thank you, and I hope to stay again one day.
Location was great in central Amiens, very close to a few restaurants, the cathedral, Jules Verne house. Breakfast was ok. Parking at the rear of the hotel was great and secure. Quiet, despite our room being on the ground floor on the street side, and the hotel being in the centre of town. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room, which most French hotels don't supply. My child said the room was cozy, I thought it was a little on the small side.
Everything. Ginkgo hotel is a perfect place to stay whilst on Amiens. It is clean, great location, breakfast was lovely and Julie, our host, was fantastic, who offered us recommendations of things to do during our short stay in Amiens. She also accommodated us leaving early in the morning by arranging breakfast in good time before our train.
10/10 would recommend for short and long stays in Amiens.
The hotel itself is great, being modern, clean and roomy. The rooms were big well equipped and very comfortable.
Breakfast was also good.
Also Amiens is a lovely place to visit.
