The staff was so friendly. The food in the restaurant was fresh and delicious. My room was huge and comfortable. I loved all the old and tasteful furniture. An eclectic historical building in a lovely village.

This place was truly exceptional. When we drove up, it felt like something out of a fairy tale - the estate, the grounds, the gardens, the (very well behaved) 4 footed greeting party. The winding forest path you drive down to reach the main house is carpeted with these delicate pink violets. It was amazing. Our room was HUGE. It looked out over the gorgeous back of the property and to the farmers fields beyond. The bed and linens were very comfortable and the bathroom was large, recently remodeled and very modern. The style of the whole place had a beautiful, comfortable curated feel about it. The whole house felt filled with light. The breakfast could be taken in the dining room or outside on the huge terrace. The European style breakfast was plentiful - with several different kinds of bread and pastries and multiple types of jams/marmalades. The coffee was really good. The hosts, Laurent and Christine could not have possibly been more hospitable. For us, they were the very best part of our stay. Charming and friendly, they made us feel very welcome and we cannot wait to come back. This place was a GREAT value for our money.

Dominique’s lodging options just outside Bayeux were perfect for our 5 days in Normandy! We were met by our dear host, Dominique, in a such a beautiful and calming environment of goats, cows, flowers galore, the birds calling, and listening to the frogs around the fish pong - so restful after our busy days. Bring your ingredients and the kitchen will have everything else - one small and one larger dining table, sink, full-sized refrigerator, full stove and oven; dishwasher, utensils, dishes, pots. The bedrooms are comfortable, have good storage and lighting, have fresh linens and pillows on the comfortable and are simply but stylishly decorated (one bedroom has a queen bed; the other has two twins). There is also a cozy living room for six people, as well as a picnic table, various chairs, a sauna, hot tub and pool in the back yard. This remarkable lodging is truly Dominique’s labor of love.

    Audrieu is a small village a few minutes away from the main...

    Audrieu is a small village a few minutes away from the main route between Caen and Bayeau. Bayeau is a lovely town with of course the tapestry to visit, although it is due to be closed for renovations in 2025. It is a picturesque town with plenty of cafes and restaurants. We found free parking for 4 hours close to the Tapestry exhibition. Andrieu is a perfect spot to travel along the Normandy beaches to see the American WWII cemetery and the British WWII memorial. The British memorial has a very good cafe and exhibition open until 5pm. We found that most cafes & restaurants along the coast shut at 2pm so the one at the British memorial is very useful.

    Everything was great about this chateau - the welcome from...

    Everything was great about this chateau - the welcome from Lauriane (who managed to find some lunch for us although we arrived late !), the room itself, the extra presents in our room, the restaurant, the service and although I left some clothes behind us when we left they managed to post them to our home within a week. We would go back there in a heartbeat !!!

    Fortunately we travelled by car so the hotel was in easy reach of Bayeau, Caen and the Normandy beaches. The food at breakfast was good and the quality of the food in the restaurant was of good quality. The hotel was in good order, clean and most of the staff spoke good english.

    The grounds, the pool, and the rooms were outstanding. The staff tried hard to accommodate our needs and were very pleasant. Additionally, the attention to detail throughout the hotel was awe-inspiring, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.
