Hôtel Le Cap is located right opposite Barneville-Carteret Beach, on the Normandy Coast. It offers rooms with panoramic sea views, and a restaurant with a flower-filled terrace. Room was surprisingly nice and quiet and very clean. We loved our dinner but thought their buffet breakfast could have been better. A bit quicker on replacing croissants, orange juice etc. different staff on. We also wanted to tip the waiters but were not sure whether service was included in the bill until we went to check out.

Hôtel des Isles, Hôtel Restaurant Les Ormes, The Originals Relais (Relais du Silence), and Hôtel La Marine got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Barneville-Carteret.
La Marine was completely wonderful: the room, the balcony, the reception, the marvellous breakfast, the fantastically helpful staff - each and everyone - and the design and high quality fit out was superb. In fact I can’t praise the hotel enough; I could have stayed for much longer. The view over the estuary was delightful.
There are several restaurants and the Gare is vibrant with a range of food providers. The port of Carteret is particularly pleasant at high tide. The beach is a safe place for young children with soft sand and a seawater 'pool' which remains even when the tide goes out.
We stayed only one night but it was enough to understand that it is place to return. Room was very clean and neat, our room was 15 m2 but was just enough for one night. Next time we book bigger room for sure. The room had nice balcony with a view to the beach. Very beautiful. Shower had good pressure and very warm water, also clean and nice. Only a bit small. The Hotel has nice bar and quite big restaurant. Food was fine although not too many choices. We were at winter so maybe that was a reason. Very nice people and, for my surprice, everyone talked english. Definitely recommend to stay here
Carteret is a beutifull port the hotel restaurant especially the restaurant in fantastic food amazing you won’t eat Anywere better.rooms very clean and comfortable beds. But not coffee or tea making in bedroom.there isent a lot of sound proofing so you can here doors closing toilets flushing etc.Would I stay here again yes for a night but no longer only because of noise.
Barneville-Carteret is, in effect, 2 towns. Barneville is basically a holiday village of privately owned holiday homes, attached to a small well-served town. Carteret is the fishing/leisure port on the other side of the river, with a good selection of restaurants and tasteful shops. Both towns have access to great sandy beaches, as you'd expect in this part of Normandy and have a gentle, unpretentious atmosphere. It's clearly a popular resort for French tourists, many of whom appear to have second homes or have perhaps retired here, and although it appears to be relatively undiscovered by Brits, the vast majority of waiting and shop staff have excellent English when our limited French ran aground. Carteret lighthouse and the neighbouring town of Port-Bail are well worth a trip. The former offers great views along the coast, with the latter having a traditional Sunday morning market and some very good art shops.
Stunning beach and views. Uncrowded and ideal for a 'quiet'holiday. The Hotel des Isles was sensational quality for the set price of €30 for 3 plates! Beautiful, clean resort and friendly people. You need a car as transport is limited, as are taxis and there are not too many facilities in Barneville Plage itself.
Our room was perfect, with really comfortable bed, beautiful roomy bathroom with bath and shower - and the most stunning view you could wish for in a seaside hotel. If at all possible go all out and get a room with a terrace overlooking the sea.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. The Hotel was situated in a quiet location, but close to the seafront and several restaurants (although we preferred those in the nearby Carteret). There was ample parking outside the Hotel.
Hotel well placed on the sea front. The food and atmosphere at the restaurant were excellent All staff very friendly except the breakfast man Chap with the beard who took our restaurant reservation and checked us out really pleasant
The hotel staff are very welcoming, the place is very comfortable with a modern feel, the restaurant is excellent and so are the cakes in the bar! Location is great too. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel...thank you!
A lovely little hotel in a pretty location. The room was great with a large bathroom and walk-in shower. The best thing was the meal in their restaurant in the evening, which was superb. Would like to visit again.
We did not have breakfast. Hotel was well located in Barneville
