We are regular visitors to Boulogne, but this was as very short visit. However the property we stayed in was lovely - a well appointed apartment, and a superb breakfast left outside the room by Mms Claudine! The Old Town of Boulogne where the property is located has one or two very good restaurants, and an imposing Cathedral. The narrow streets make parking a little tricky, but once out of the old town the seas is close and the main shops are good.
The Old Town of Boulogne is lovely, with lots of eating places, quirky little shops, beautiful old buildings and so laid-back that even after only a few days' stay, you feel really chilled. It's all inside the old town walls and is so peaceful and relaxed
Fabulous property. Warm, welcoming and comfortable. Beautifully restored with antique pieces but a modern and comfortable sofa. Great bed and quality bedding; a good nights sleep. Exceptional bathroom with underfloor heating and fabulous bath, also with great quality towels on a lovely heated towel rail. Breakfast was beautifully presented on a tray. Exceptional. Cannot praise this property enough. Deserves more stars ⭐️. Needed more time to look around the old walled town. The house was right in the center but on a small quiet street. We will be back
Just a short 20 minute drive from Calais, getting to this beautiful seaside town from the Eurotunnel is super easy. We chose it because it’s known for for its seafood and Bolougne-sur-Mer did not disappoint. Lots of great restaurants serve fresh seafood that comes from the port, which is also a sight to see. There’s a fresh fish market if you like that sort of thing (we do) but make sure you go there early as it closes before noon. The Plage de Boulogne-sur-Mer, which is the main sandy beach is big and well serviced part of the French Opal Coast. The town also hosts one of Europe’s largest aquariums - Nausicaá. On a clear day, the white cliffs of Dover are visible from the higher parts of the town but go to Cap Gris-Nez for the best views.
The city itself is worth the stay and the visit, but if you intent to spend serious time at the beach, select any of the smaller villages around. You'll be closer to nicer beaches and you can still drive to the city for the things to see there.
There was a real problem driving to the apartment. The streets are really narrow and parking spaces like hens teeth. It was very picturesque but difficult. Most restaurants were shut but it was a Sunday evening after a four day bank holiday. There was a really good burger takeaway opposite. The apartment was well appointed and we lacked for nothing even salt for our chips!
Boulogne-sur-Mer
The staff are exceptional in their support and service. We had a bag stolen by a neighbour but with the help of the manager and a tracking device we managed to locate it and get it back. The accommodation is beautifully renovated and comfortable The private use of the fabulous pool in the basement The convenient and pretty location in the old town by the castle and cathedral The breakfast was lovely The whole experience staying there was special. We will certainly return and highly recommend this to other travellers
Boulogne-sur-Mer
Communication both before and during our stay was great. We were met by our host at the property who gave us a very good introduction to the property with useful information on local restaurants, bars & shops. The property couldn't be in a better position right in the centre of the old town and although there is no private parking, there is plenty of free on-street parking around the area. The kitchen had everything we needed for a short stay and the wifi was excellent.
Boulogne-sur-Mer
This has simply been... amazing! The location couldn't be better: into the gorgeous historical heart of Boulogne-Sur-Mer. The breakfast was splendid, just perfect - delicious hand-made marmalades, authentic and local French croissants, and so much more. The house oozes history, and the host is passionate about telling you more about its history. My historical heart rarely beat this fast before. We will definitely be back!
Boulogne-sur-Mer
Corinne's apartment is fabulous. The location is simply superb - right in the middle of Boulogne's beautiful old town overlooking the square and beautiful gardens. The rooms are finished to a very high standard and there are lots of lovely touches. Breakfast was delicious and excellent quality and value. Corinne is so friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this property and can't wait to return.
Boulogne-sur-Mer
Excellent location, right in the middle of the walled old town with restaurants at doorstep, free parking near the church about a block away, very convenient location. The place was spacious. The kitchen have almost everything you need including utensils, pots, frying pan, plates, glasses (wine glasses as well), cooking oil, salts...... almost better than my own.
Boulogne-sur-Mer
The location of the apartment was really good. It was in the center of Boulogne-sur-Mer, with parking space in front of the apartment. We did had to pay for it, but the costs were pretty low (€1 per hour). The bathroom was decorated nicely and was the best looking room of the apartment to my taste. It wasn't very big, but the shower was really decent.
Boulogne-sur-Mer
A very well positioned apartment, 5 min walk from the old town and maybe 10 min from the Sat and Weds Market. The owner was very helpful. Everything was clean and the kitchen well equipped to cook for the three of us. Huge living room and front bedroom, which my children thought were incredible.
Boulogne-sur-Mer
Valérie was a lovely host, very friendly and welcoming. The bedroom and bathroom were immaculately clean. Beautiful house with a tonne of character and it's perfectly located in the old town and an easy walk to Nausicaa where we spent our first day. Breakfast was also plentiful and tasty.
Boulogne-sur-Mer
Excellent location in the middle of the old town, room was clean and well appointed, instructions were good and hosts reachable and the bed is comfortable. Also, having free parking close to the premises was a huge plus. All in all a great stay 👍
Boulogne-sur-Mer
It's a cute studio apartment, right in the center of the old town, with free parking in the old town and outside the wall, 5 min away. Absolutely loved the place and location. Couldn't have asked for more.
Boulogne-sur-Mer
Breakfast was awesome! It is located very near to all historical sites. This hotel has its own history. It was previously barracks of Bitish army.
Cheap basic hotel. Safe and good for a stopover night. Within walking distance of beach and town.
nothing of this hotel was worth mentioning, the hotel was very very basic.
The location was good for the ‘old town’ Pleasant and helpful staff.
Hotel staff Great location
