Loved this place - beautiful country setting but with services and an excellent restaurant a short ride away; kind, friendly owners who provided some great tips for the area, and homemade goodies at breakfast. A great base for exploring the area. My room was really a work of art - decorated in a William the Conqueror medieval "theme" (but with all the mod-cons you'd need - tv, wifi, hair dryer, etc.) - very cozy, pretty, unique and comfortable! Gîte des Aulnaies is located in Saint-Aubin-sur-Algot, 14 km from Lisieux Train Station. This home in the country is a delightful cottage to visit. Only a few hours from so many places to visit, it is a great bivouac to plan an extended stay in Calvados-Normandy. I am doing so again soon. Impeccable!
