Chalons is a beautiful city full of parks, canal walks and stunning buildings. We stayed overnight on the way further south but had a lovely evening in the city and walk in the walk the next morning. The hotel was lovely and had all facilities, pool,sauna, spa and treatments. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed on Mondays but there are restaurants in the main city which is only a 10 min drive away. Such beautiful edifices, Notre Dame en Vaux is an absolute gem, and Saint Etienne Cathedral impressive, worth the visit. The stream running through the town is charming. This was literally a stop over visit but one which as meant that we will return to catch up on the experience which a longer stay would permit us to enjoy. There was enough evidence gained on a freezingly cold winter, evening visit that the centre would have a lively street culture to enjoy in more clement conditions. Our meal at the Lebanese restaurant near to the Hotel de Ville was excellent and we are looking forward to our being able to repeat that on our next return trip to the Channel ports.Guest review byAnthonyFrance
