L’Hostellerie du Château is implanted on the edge of the River Loire, at the foot of the Chaumont Castle which dominates the valley and the village. Absolutely lovely place to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. An excellent restaurant for dinner and a very good breakfast.

Featuring a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a shared lounge, and a garden, Ancien pavillon de chasse du château de Chaumont sur Loire offers accommodation in Chaumont-sur-Loire with free WiFi and pool... Carol was at the house to give us a warmly welcome to her beautiful house. The house is a wonderful and charming place to start the sightseeing tours in the Loire valley. The big garden with the swimming pool is a perfect place to relax and to enjoy the wonderful surroundings. We'll come back as soon as possible to that extraordinary place. Golden Girls, Austria
Built in 19th century, the property is within 70 metres of Château de Chaumont. It offers accommodation in a private house. Guest rooms at Le Motu Loire are fitted with a seating area. Bedroom charming and terrace perfect to sit in the evening with a glass of wine. Hostess very welcoming and friendly with lots of stories to tell. Welcomed with a lovely tray of raspberries and strawberries. Beautiful situation on the banks of the Loire and very close to good restaurants for dinner and breakfast. Nestling under the Château de Chaumont
We enjoyed the International Garden Festival at the Chateau of Chaumont. We ate very well at the restaurant La Madelene de Proust but you must book well in advance. There is limited seating and only one sitting. The Logis de Chaumont was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
Allow lots of time to visit the chateau as it has huge grounds with great views. Be warned that the walk up to the chateau from the village is long and steep ( there is another easier entrance near to the big car park area at the top)You can walk along the river and on summer evenings the hot air balloons are a fantastic sight to see. Our host recommended a restaurant that was unfortunately fully booked by 6 p.m. but we had a fantastic, if slightly more expensive meal at the local Hotel de la Loire. Chaumont village itself ( the area by the river) is very small. There is a station within walking distance.
