The town itself is clearly very old, it has its roots in the Roman era or even before. It is tiny and there were not as many tourists as I expected there to be. There were not that many restaurants and bars either (apparently most tourists stay on their campsites).
The surroundings of the town are really stunning though: it is a great place for hiking, cycling and canoeing.
The hotel is located in a very old building in the centre of Die. To French measures my room was quite large. Staff is friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast offers lots of choice and is of good quality. There is no A/C, but even with temperatures of up to 34c during daytime, I was able to keep a cool temperature in my room (which was on the northern side of the building and not on the top floor).
The city of Die offers free parking within walking distance and is a good base for trips in the beautiful area.
It’s very small and compact. The sleeping area is tight, with bunk beds which, while we managed, are not ideal for older people.A sofa in the living area would convert to a double bed. Kitchen area well equipped. Lovely shower room.
It’s comfortable for two, but I would imagine that more than that would be a tight squeeze.
We love it here. Our 2nd visit. The location, although difficult to find, is fantastic. Just outside Die, rural and quiet.
Laurent the host is very nice.
only stayed a night on a bikepacking trip but it was perfect: Small room that had everything necessary and a modern bathroom. Safe storage for my bicycle. Breakfast for extra charge was delicious. And if you need to eat dinner, highly recommend La Stazione restaurant in Die nearby. couldn’t use the terrace or pool as it’s still way too cold but I guess in summer it’s even nicer!
We had a good breakfast, everthing you expect to be a the breakfast was there. A good family runned hotel. Easy parking very clean rooms and beautiful sight on the surrounding mountains. Is a rather old place so don't expect the newest modern interior, than you should go to Ritz Carlton in Cannes.
It was the tradtional French hotel in all the good sense of the word traditional. High standaard of hospitality. Spacious room. And I aspecially likes the big key that's part of the tradtional hotel I like. They were very helpful in providingva good and safe spot for my bike.
Room clean and beds comfortable. Friendly reception. Owner kindly drove us to the station when we left. Breakfast very good. Great central location. I have recommended this hotel to a few friends over the years and have stayed there numerous times myself.
Big apartment in the center of the historical city of Die.
Surrounded by mountains so great place for biking.
However in the city itself there are more than enough places to go, mostly a hippie vibe.
It is an old style hotel so has a lot of good basic character. Sandra, one of the owners is a wonderful, caring human being. It is a family property and they take to heart having you in their home.
The hotel is bang in the middle of the town. it was very clean and our room was almost brand new! owners friendly and helpful. breakfast was good and it had a roof terrace to eat out on.
It was a perfect short stay for us as we were there for a wedding. The host was a very charming lady and made us felt very welcome. I recommend this gite to who ever wants to visit Die.
