Chateau de Feer is located just a 1 hour drive from Paris. This castle dating back to the 17th century offers a gastronomic restaurant, swimming pool and spa facilities. The hotel, its staff and the restaurant with its staff - everything from start to finish was outstanding.
Located in a 5-hectares park in Fère-en-Tardenois in the Picardy region, this guest house offers accommodations in wooden cottages and tree houses with a kitchenette and a terrace. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed our stay. We would have liked barbecue/cooking facilities as there were very few eating options in town on Monday night.
Sitting in a 7-hectare garden, Maison d'Hôtes Résidence Clairbois is located in the countryside of Fère-en-Tardenois. They host are a terrific couple. They invited us to sit and enjoy some recently pressed apple cider which was delicious. Luckily I was able to get wifi and use Google Translate to conduct a delightful conversation. They sent us to a very nice pizza parlor for dinner in another nearby village and even called ahead to make sure the restaurant would stay open.
Ferme de villardelle Maison de vacances is located in Courmont and offers a garden, barbecue facilities and a terrace. Modern kitchen, open areas for hanging out, comfortable beds, good parking, friendly owners (and horses). Quiet but close enough to town to make it convenient.
Set in Le Charmel, 9.9 mi from Château-Thierry, Chambres d'Hotes chez Renée offers a garden and free WiFi. A continental breakfast is available every morning at the bed and breakfast. Renee was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, large, had a gorgeous balcony and lovely view of the garden which was beautiful. The beds were extremely comfortable and the breakfast very good.
Set in Mont-Noter-Dame, 23 mi from Château-Thierry, Moulin Saurele offers a shared lounge and free WiFi. Fabulous place..lovely friendly owners..very helpful..ideal location for us..great scenery.. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.. Very pleasant experience..
There's not a lot to see or do in the village, it's very limited for places to eat but there is a well stocked supermarket (Super U) where you can get most things. As a base for exploring the region it is a good spot as long as you have a vehicle and don't mind travelling.
We did not examine the actual city - the location was secluded if you are on a wine tasting trip, the wine yards are to the east. The countryside is very beautiful, and inviting for outdoors activities.
The chateau is very nice, the staff was very helpful welcoming us very warmly. We had a room with garden view so no view on castle ruins but it was very nice as well with a view on the countryside! The rooms are a little bit small but very comfortable and the restaurant was excellent (we had a very nice set course for dinner). Breakfast on the terrace is very nice. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere but that's what I was expecting and really nothing negative to say about his hotel...
The hotel, its staff and the restaurant with its staff - everything from start to finish was outstanding.
