The area has changed a lot in the 20 years we’ve been driving through it. It now has a tram and it seems very busy with commuters and people being dropped off Flix buses. We always try to stay here as an overnight stop on our way home from the Spanish border. Always enjoy this hotel. Easy access to and from the A71/A75. Our dog is welcome which is so important for us. We had a fabulous ground floor room with the advantage of a fridge and a safe in the room. The hotel has been restored and redecorated to a high standard. Great for an overnight stay on your way north or south. Located near the motorway (audible from the bedroom). No airconditioning yet, so a little warm. We booked for an overnight hotel, which was next to the toll, there are restaurants and supermarkets within 5 mins drive. The welcome from the receptionist was cold, the bedding was clean so that's a positive. The large double bed was comfortable but the bunks were terrible. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. Too hot. Very clean and well decorated but sparse. Toilet and shower very clean. No toiletries. Towels too small. Not enough pillows. Floor was a nightmare. Bouncy and creamy. Every time one of us needed to use the toilet we woke the others with the noisy floor.
