Location was terrific! Walking distance to restaurants and a lovely riverside park. Parking was relatively easy, right next to the apartment or across the street. The bathroom was new. The shower had great water pressure. Great to have a fridge, stove and kettle available.

    The town is pleasant and very walkable.

    The town is pleasant and very walkable. The chateau is smaller than better-known ones to the east, but its charm and beautiful exhibits, coupled with the unique history of the house and gardens, makes it a definite destination. The chateau hosts a famous garden festival in late May. There are also Gallo-Roman ruins worth exploring within 10 km, with a pleasant picnic area. In Le Lude, I enjoyed Anglo-French pub fare at the Rose & Crown, and was treated like family.

    Le lude is fairly typical of french towns, the soul is dying...

    Le lude is fairly typical of french towns, the soul is dying and locals struggling to maintain services. Eg, bar centrale is shut, rose and crown open but no snacks, shops closed up, tatty appearance generally. Despite my lack of enthusiasm in this review I feel that tourists should try to support local providers where possible even though the experience may not be as superficially glossy as corporate hospitality

    Gavin and Lori are superb hosts, very friendly. The bedrooms were lovely, beautiful decorated and very comfy beds. Delicious breakfasts with homemade jams, homemade yoghurt and banana bread. Le Lude Chateaux was just a few minutes walk down the road and was lovely. La Renaissance restaurant nearby was excellent. Lovely to have a swimming pool too. We’ll definitely be back!

    Breakfast was varied and lacked nothing Excellent coffee Continental with choice of eggs ham cheese fruit yoghurt cereal honey jam Situation to centre of Le Lude was 20 steps away even on the front of the hotel we heard very little noise Comfortable beds Hot water on tap parking right outside the front door I can find nothing negative to say

    We were made to feel very welcome and our room was lovely and comfortable and breakfast was very good. The chambre d'hôte is in the centre of Le Lude and there is a beautiful chateau to visit and very good restaurants nearby. We hope to return later in the year and stay for more than one night.

    The breakfast in the hotel was very good and we did not feel rushed. The manager was most helpful. We had a really delicious meal in the restaurant - far beyond what we were expecting. An added bonus is the exceptional chateau to visit just down the road.
