I’ve stayed here a few times and it’s close to where I needed to be. Breakfast was good and the staff are friendly and polite.

The ibis Melun is a nonsmoking hotel with free WiFi and free daily newspapers. very helpful and friendly front desk staff, they were very accommodating and gave us an early check-in as well as let us store some food in their fridge. Room was clean and comfortable and modern. wifi was great, breakfast looked fantastic (though we didn't have time to eat it), great value

We've been to Melun so as to visit two castles : Vaux-le-Vicomte (a must see a few km away from Melun) and Fontainebleau. Two excellent visits, we didn't enjoy any time in Melun properly speaking.

La Belle Etoile is within walking distance to Melun where there is a market twice a week. The streets are walker friendly. there is a central car park if required and there are some nice buildings and squares.

Very nice old quarter with shops and a few restaurants. Place not to miss is Le Grapillon. Excellent food and wine pairings. Another nice restaurant is L'orchidee, for Thai and Vietnamese food. For sight seeing, there is Chateau Vaux-le-Vicompte about 10km away and well worth the trip. As well the lovely towns of Blandy-les-Tour, Fontainebleau are accessible via car.

I stayed here because I had to drive to another city several hours south east of Paris and didn’t want to drive after just flying in that morning. So this was a good place to stop, just south of Paris.

The cleanliness and the bed. Everything is provided basically apart from a dressing mirror in the bedroom. The one in the bathroom isn’t good enough if you want to get dressed and see yourself properly.

The lobby area was great for hanging out, with lots of outlets and a free coffee / tea machine. The weather was rainy and so it was easy to order food from Takeaway and have it delivered at the hotel to enjoy a hot meal. Our bed was pretty comfortable as well, WiFi worked well.
