Set in Moutiers-sous-Chantemerle, 36 km from Parthenay, La Finesse offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and free WiFi. We had a fantastic stay at La Finesse. The property itself is comfortable, charming and very clean, with high-quality bed linen and towels. We stayed in the suite, which was spacious and beautiful. The ensuite boasted modern facilities and the shower had very good water pressure. We also had access to a private little terrace just outside as well as a tastefully furnished space at the back to take our meals in the morning and evening. Every day, we looked forward to our breakfast and dinner, which were varied, well-prepared and beautifully presented affairs. Tea and coffee facilities were also available in the room along with a drinks chiller. During the day, there are plenty of opportunities to visit various destinations in Vandee (such as Puy de Fou, Marais Poitevin or chateau Oiron with its mix of ancient and modern art), or go for a lovely bike ride (with bikes provided for free and an excellent wide bike path, which had replaced an old railtrack, running through the woods nearby) or just chill by the pool (our favourite activity). The sole use of the swimming pool and the shared indoor and outdoor areas was a big bonus and it was down to our hosts' decision to accept only one guest party at a time in order to ensure adequate protection against COVID-19. Our hosts Trish and Mark were remarkable in their genuine desire to keep us safe, comfortable and make our stay relaxing and memorable. They considered every aspect of our stay and were available whenever we needed assistance or even just for a chat! Their hospitality, authenticity and generosity of spirit made our stay there unforgettable - and truly excellent value for money. We feel that we have gained more than the rest of a lovely holiday - we have made friends at La Finesse and are hoping to return there at the first opportunity. Highly recommended!
