Reims and the surrounding area is very interesting. We visited the Pommery caves and were treated to a fascinating insight into champagne making. All the local towns have history and culture. There are plenty of great restaurants and coffee houses within walking distance. It was March and none of the places were busy. Driving around was easy. We always start with a visit to the tourist office to get a local map and information. All the towns have one and they are easy to find. Not speaking French was not a problem.

There is a lot of pre-Roman, Roman, medieval and French history in this city. If art is your thing, lots of that too with sharp contracts between the very current FRAC and other artwork in various museums. Great eating in several small restaurants, a "cave a manger". In the city and in nearby Epernay (20 minutes by cheap local train), great tastings, tours and other experiences around champagne.

Beautiful city with so many things to see and do--all within walking distance of the city center. Reims Cathedral is lovely, as are Saint Jacques and Saint Remi. Well worth visiting. The Museum of the Surrender is small but interesting Don't miss the covered 1920s market--it's incredible! The cobblestoned shopping district offers many delicious eating options, and there are small grocery stores all around as well.

Reims is a compact city with much to see. The cathedral is a must! There's a comprehensive tram system so you can explore. Lots of nice shops and places to eat. I wouldn't say it's cheap but everything is good quality. There are themed walks around the city, which would be great in spring or autumn. I've been three times for the Christmas market and to shop for presents. The streets and shops are beautifully decorated. A real treat to look at! I'd definitely consider visiting when it's warmer. If you like champagne this is the area for you!

Reims was fin e - it was the B&B hotel that was disappointing! The Wi-Fi did not work, but the main problem was the garage parking. We ordered a space, which was 8€, but no-one at reception could explain how to find the entrance (close to the Station). It used up a great deal of time, and was much further than the 200m stated on-line. The staff need to be given detailed maps to find the parking entrance. The service was pleasant, but totally inadequate. We did manage to find an excellent restaurant in the old town of Reims.

So much to do in this delightful town. Roman ruins, war history, excellent shopping , people, and fab cathedrals, all with interesting stories and lovingly restored. Excellent shoe shop near the apartment, and supermarkets to buy champagne. Take a bus to one of the champagne houses. Very walkable city, loved every minute of it.

the hotel was immaculate and the room was comfortable and well laid out. The closeness to the city centre was ideal, a short walk and you can cut through the station when it is open, when it is closed it’s still only adds an extra 5mins walk so not a problem. The breakfast was great for my partner (not so great for me as a vegan though!) Staff were helpful and friendly and the room was cleaned thoroughly daily. The tea and coffee selection in the room was great!

Great hotel in the centre of Reims. The room was very big with a balcony over looking the main Street, the room was very clean with a very comfy and large bed. We stopped here for one night on our way to Italy and the staff were very helpful. The public parking garage is very close and the hotel gets a discount if you pay for it through them.
