Hotel in Rocamadour
Located close to Rocamadour, this 17th-century mansion is set in a large, peaceful park and features panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Such a lovely place to stay. The hotel's facilities are very clean, tastefully done and lots of space. The grounds are almost magical, they're really beautiful. Especially at sunset. The location is perfect- walking distance to the top of the Chateau at Rocamadour - it's about a 30-40 minute walk through gorgeous countryside, along vineyards, farms and old paths. Or you can rent electric bikes from Rocamadour and just explore everywhere. We did this for two days and it was so much fun. The owners of the hotel are very knowledgable about the area and quite happy to share their knowledge. Definitely ask them! Without question, we'll stay here again. It actually exceeded our expectations. I have to add, the breakfast was very good- all local and fresh products- completely a treat.

Set in the medieval town of Rocamadour, this hotel offers a breath-taking view of the Alzou Valley. Traditional cuisine is served in the restaurant, and you can enjoy a drink on the terrace. The location is fabulous, near the stairway to the church, the parking just in front of the entrance. In the evening you can admire the spectacular view from the open terrace. The staff is lovely and attentive. Strongly recommended! There I’ve tasted the most delicious fois gras! Et je n’ai jamais goûté rien de meilleur!
Hotel in Rocamadour
Set among oak trees, this hotel is located just outside Rocamadour's old town walls. It offers a pool with a terrace, and rooms with free Wi-Fi and views of the surrounding park. We liked everything about this place, it actually felt more like a welcoming home than a hotel. Wide hallways, large open areas, plenty of glass and natural light and not many rooms. The pool area was lovely and very clean. In fact the whole place was very well maintained and exceptionally clean. Our room was spacious and modern with our own private courtyard. The owners were very welcoming and attentive and the breakfast was exceptional. It is also perfectly located between the old town area and the new, I would highly recommend this property,

We ate at the Les Jardins de la Louve in Rocamadour. Lovely outside eating area with great views, friendly staff, good selection of food for all tastes. The traditional French food was delicious as was the pizza. We stooped en route to Rocamadour for a picnic at Moulin Fortifie du Cougnguet. This cost 6 euros to enter and for that we had a guided tour of a working traditional flour giving mill. The owner also let us try a sample of eaux de vie into which you dip sugar lumps and suck them and some local walnuts. We were then allowed to have our picnic by a river and waterfall with dozens of butterflies. A really beautiful location. Well worth a stop to catch your breath and escape the busy world. We visited Grottes de Lacave where you go underground on a train into an amazing cave with a guided tour that lasts 1.5 hours to 2 hours. Well worth a visit and very well organised. We also went to Gouffre de Padirac. The whole experience is wonderful from going into the huge gouffre by stairs or lift and then a walking decent into the cave where you are then taken by boat to the main cave. This is a self-guided tour so you can take as long as you want to go round the walk. The Cave itself is amazing and so vast. The staff are very friendly too.I would avoid the holiday season to visit this cave though. The town of Rocamadour is beautiful. Restaurants, shops etc are a little expensive as is usual in an area like this. The views are magnificent and the circular walk to the top and round to the view points is well worth the effort.
Staying in the Medieval part of the city was extra special. During the day, it was pretty busy, with bus loads of tourists being poured out into the tiny streets. But at night, it was entirely deserted and had a very different feel.
Frighteningly beautiful but our Band B was ideally situated for both walking and using the lifts up to the château and down to the town itself. Couldn't have been better places and our host was very kind. Parking was easy but finding the place proved a little more difficult - not the fault of the host but of our GPS ! Once there, no problems at all!
Really picturesque. The lift up and down the hill is a rip off. The lifts close at 18h00 but the restaurants dont open until 19h00. Be prepared to walk. Car parking at the bottom is not good. Well worth the visit though if you take that into account.
its a bit touristy during the high season but nice otherwise. great for walks and also has a lift for those less able. the views are fabulous well worth the climbing or the stair of the cross. You are supposed to do it on your knees.... but the churches carved out of the rock are vey special.
Beautiful setting and really lovely religious sites. Totally given over to tourists in the day but much better when day trippers have gone and its so much quieter and nicer to look around. A couple of things to be aware of if you come by train is you can't get a taxi to rocammadour so i had to hitch a lift and the one the hotel organised for my journey back started at 20 Euros as its the only one around and she comes from 10 km away so nearly 30 euros for only a short ride back. If i had known that I may have tried hitching back but had to catch an early train so may not have been lucky. Obviously hitching has risks though.

A very nice hotel in a tucked away location. Traditional country building with lovely rooms and an outdoor pool. The hotel is also an excellent restaurant, the staff attentive a friendly looking after you as a hotel guest and in the restaurant. English speaking with good wine cellar to pick from.
The bedroom had a splendid view of the Rocamadour Sanctuary. The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating; they more than exceeded our expectations (and extra requests :-)). Breakfast was delicious and very copious. I thank them no end for making my sister's and my stay a memorable one!
The hotel is in a perfect location in the old town. The room was comfortable and the staff unfailingly helpful and courteous. Our evening meal in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast also was everything we could wish for. I would recommend it, albeit with the notes below.
