Located at the foot of the Ispéguy pass, this traditional Basque-style hotel offers an outdoor pool and elegant rooms either overlooking the grounds, the river or the Pyrennes mountains. Attention given to complication with my payment was very professionally and graciously managed. The property is immaculate inside and out. The rooms are first tier and it is exceptional design and quality throughout hotel. A very contemporary and intriguing and spacious hotel. There is a gorgeous view from hotel in peaceful rural setting minutes from the pleasures of San Sebastian. The pool/spa area is a true delight and with state of the art hydrotherapy within pool itself. All together including sauna and exceptional steam room, lounging area with gorgeous view, quite a lovely pool area. The property is set away from road by nice driveway, and maintains a solitary lookout towards ocean. Is a perfectly accomplished hotel with the finest and sincerest staff available.
This 15th-century house is set in the heart of the Basque country, 6.2 mi from Saint-Jean-Pien-de-Port and 31 mi from Biarritz and Bayonne. Margorie is a treasure. She was welcoming and charming and helpful—and a great cook. The renovations to the old farmhouse reflect taste and a thoughtful, generous use of space. We feel like we made a friend and we’re hoping to come back again soon.
Located in Saint-Étienne-de-Baïgorry in the Aquitaine region, Chambres d'hôtes Idiartekoborda provides accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. Everything! The remote location was perfect for a chill out weekend. The breakfast was delicious and the host super helpful, suggesting great hikes.
Located 9.3 mi from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and 1640 feet from Nive de Baigorri River, Chambres d’hôtes Agorerreka is an elegant guest house which features exposed beams, stone walls and a terrace. Comfortable airy room with soothing sound of the river. Lovely breakfast. Communal kitchen with outdoor eating area convenient and relaxing. Panxto was not only the perfect host but also full of knowledge and love of the Basque Country which was inspiring.
Lovely village about 10 k from Saint Jean Pied du Port, nestled in a valley near an excellent hiking trail that leads up to the Spanish border. Plenty of local shops for chocolate, bread, fruit and other provisions. Interesting local production of trout, cheese, and Pays Basque ham nearby.
